  • Hi guys, I have been losing weight for my wedding last year with MFP, but I gained half of that weight back on now - and I don't like it. I find it really hard to get back into the counting-everything at the moment so I thought I am giving these alternating programs a go. I am also giving up alcohol, chocolates and cakes…
  • That would always depend on how much of each you are using. Weigh everything before you cook it (with oil I usually weigh the bottle before and after I poor some in the pan). I have big portions for my dinner, so you have to find what is working for you - i.e. what amount of pasta/veggies etc will satisfy your hunger.
  • I usually fry some chicken breast in some olive oil with garlic, chili or other herbs/spice mixes and stir some creame cheese through - you get different flavoured cream cheeses in light, which make for a nice alternative sometimes.. I usually have some sort of (boiled) veggies as a side which goes yummy with the sauce!
  • I have sugarfree syrups from Monin at my desk - currently Caramel - love it! If I don't use that, I use Splenda as sugar alternative, I don't like the taste of normal sweetener much (only downside of Monin really) - only tried stevia once and i didn't like the aftertaste.. Splenda is just sweet without adding "sweetener"…
  • How silly is that - why would someone assign a 0?? #facepalm
  • not sure what the US version is, but the German one is the same as the UK one - you get kilojoule and kilocalories listed per portion and per 100g usually, and a breakdown of carbs, fat, sat fat, trans fat, sugar, protein - not sure about fibre though.. And I don't think they have those labels on chocolate bars :-) Am sure…
  • Oh nice, Frankfurt is my hometown :-) Supermarkets in Germany have the nutritional labels on their food, so you should be good! And yeah, enjoy your dinner! German food is great! :-)
  • "The Notebook" - makes me tear up every single time.. "Up" is really sweet, too - not so much a romance though "The Lake House" another fav
  • Yeah, it all works fine no matter where you are - even without internet if you just use your recent foods. You need to have internet connection if you need to search for new food or to keep your day ticker updated though. <= German gal here, whereabouts in Germany are you going?
  • I just recently tried banana pancakes i.e. just banana and egg - they turned out really nice, had one big banana to two big eggs - I'd say put another egg in your mix to get the right consistency if you want to use oats. And definitely make sure that you brown one side first before flipping them. And as Elmo said, small…
  • Yupp, I took measurements as well - small changes in the right direction! :-) Curious to see how it will look in 6 weeks! :-) Girls, our wedding dates are getting closer, are you getting excited or worried?? Am a strange combination of both ;-)
  • Just got my official MFP weighin today and I finally cracked the 20KG mark!! Soooo soo glad I finally got this - it was like a huge wall in front of me, laughing right in my face! Now eat this!! LOOL :-) I have 20 weeks until my wedding and I would love to be in onederland by then! which means another 26lbs off - that…
  • Thanks for having me back ladies :-) Really appreciated it! Had my first WI today after slacking off and lost 2.2lbs! So that's brill reward for coming back! :-) Let's hope I can keep losing consistently! We are also thinking about getting first dance lessons, so just a private lesson with our song (which we haven't really…
  • I am so sorry brides! Completely fell off the wagon - just could not face the app or the thought of counting or going to the gym.. I know I should've told someone but I couldn't face it really.. sorry to have let you down! I guess as I have not been checking in for so long, I am off the challenge? Am happy to come back…
  • OMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMG  I BOUGHT IT! my dress!! Sooo excited! Really love what it does to my figure, it almost looks like I actually have one  It's ridiculous to think that it will now take 16 weeks for it to be made - and I can't find any good pictures online - the ones I can find just don't do it any…
  • Do moved-in essex girls count? Living close to Basvegas now (working in London) :-) Won't EVA call myself an Essex Girl though ;-)
  • Wooohooo!! We won! We Won! We WON!!!! Well done Team! Proud of y'all!
  • That sounds great, will check it out! Thank you very much!
  • Thanks for the suggestion Soozie. I tried listening to audiobooks and I have plenty, but I find them sooo annoying - never can really listen to them, feel my thoughts running wild, thinking of something else or reminiscing about a strange choice of words.. It's unfortunate that I can't get into them, as I don't want to…
  • Oh, and as Lawyerette mentioned to send details to our team captain from next week onwards: Who's that?
  • Am sure it's still fine for you to join Chrystal - but if in doubt just send lawyerette (threat opener) a message! For the time being: Welcome to the Team! :flowerforyou:
  • Well done on still going to the gym! So proud of you! I never had the trouble with weekends until last one.. grrrr!! Love what your fiance suggested! It's great to have his support this way, and yes, healthier snack all round for everyone rules! :-) I really should've gone to the gym on Saturday, but I was working overtime…
  • How cool, that's my birthday! I'll be thinking of your day when I blow out the candles on my bday cake  You really should give your muscles time to rest when you're lifting heavy - so 6x a week might be counter productive? (unless, of course, if you're doing split body exercises and not combound ones, if so,…
  • Just recently found something about motivation that just hit home.. thought I'd share: Motivation comes and goes. [After a Carnival Cruise commercial] "I'm going to get in shape so I can wear a swimsuit on the cruise. Yea me!" [Looks outside and notices it's windy and cool] "I don't feel like working out today. It's too…
  • Sounds great! It's brilliant to see changes like that - they always make me wanna do more and stick to it! Keep it up!
  • anothr set of PT sessions...
  • NROLFW is a great all body workout, so you get to use every muscle group with two different workout days - and it is set up in a way that you can see results (i.e. being able to use higher weights) quite quickly! I really like the fact that it focusses on compounds movements rather than small muscle groups, always was a…
  • I took measurements earlier this week, and I def think it makes sense to do them every 4 weeks! And even then I don't lose 1" every 10-12lbs.. :grumble: Do you want me to send them to you or what shall I do with them? :embarassed: or can I eat them back?
  • I have the book and started it on my own for a couple of weeks but then I paid for a PT to show me how to do the exercises properly and now I seem to be not following a proper routing - but I am planning on going back to NROLFW when I run out of money for the PT  I loved the fact that it was a really quick workout…
