  • I generally burn about 10 calories a minute - if it's a 20 minute HIIT workout, I burn about 200 calories. Yesterday I did fire 45 and burned about 500 calories. Of course, this is just for me and based on how hard I am working, but the only way I would know this is with my HRM!
  • I think so, she's in a different outfit and in a different location depending on the workout. In the HIIT workouts she's in the front row on the left side of the screen and I think she's in a yellow and black outfit in those workouts.
  • does anyone have someone n the class that they watch? There is a woman who has really long dark brown/black straight hair that is always loose that is so energetic that is a little strange looking.
  • today was Fire 45 - 500 calories burned!! FIRE!
  • I bought a HRM last year, it's one of the best investments I've made... turns out I burn a fraction of the calories any elliptical or treadmill estimates, and that explained why I wasn't loosing any weight (counter productive to eat back 800 exercise calories when you only burned 350 in reality). Now that I'm doing…
  • can I join the group?? On week 4 of a TF/CLX hybrid and loving both. I'm not building as much muscle as when I was doing P90X, but I'd rather get lean than bulk up anyway. Today I did: HIIT 15 - burned 160 core 20 - burned 160 CLX burn 1 - burned 260
  • whole wheat matzo with a tablespoon of almond butter and sliced strawberries - yum yum
  • I'd love to follow this. I have a wedding to save for and student loans to pay off! Groceries are getting expensive!
  • many have already addressed the problem, and I am sure there are others who will also add and do so better than I can. Your body needs to net 1200 calories to avoid starvation mode (more for some of us, I have mine set to 1400), if you burn some of those through exercise, your body needs more to avoid starvation mode. If…
  • ditto - love turbofire
  • grew up with it in CA anlive in the middle of no-where upstate NY with very few grocery options - can anyone say walmart? Totally miss their frozen foods, cheese selection, dried fruits and nuts and even juice!! yum yum
  • I never went through the full lean program (only about 8 weeks since I was borrowing the DVDs) but I defnitely noticed a difference and weight loss!!! I'm small and already in fairly good shape so didn't see a huge calorie burn with my HRM for the strength exercises, but my goal was to alternate cardio and strength -…
  • I think a healthy understanding of calorie content is essential to being healthy - I find it super frustrating when my fiance's mother complains that she can't loose weight, but drinks 2-4 glasses of wine every time we're there for dinner, has tons of pasta, cheese and drowns the salads in dressing! She's obviously not…
  • I make my own tomato sauce in summer and can it. I roast the tomatoes in the over on a low setting for hours with just a tony bit of olive oil, salt and pepper, then put them through a food mill to catch the skins and seeds. best way to control the nutritional content. This recipe sounds amazing
  • no tips, I have the same problem. I'm hoping that someone gives you a great tip that I can steal. I have a feeling you just need to find the motivation and then get in a groove.
  • I'm not saying I have no friends... I have some, but let's be honest, not a ton on this site. That's fine, mainly I've tried to find/start groups for the particular workouts I'm doing (turbofire and chalean extreme)
  • polar F6 based on the reviews on this site at the time. I did a search for heart rate monitor on the message boards and did a lot of reading. Love mine!
  • I agree, it puts me off a bit, as I've seen groups I'd love to join but can't because I missed the boat and never saw the original post. I've also tried to start groups for similar things that just never take off, so I'm a bit jealous of the support the people in those closed groups are getting that I'm trying to find.
  • I consciously don't log the clove of garlic I chop to put on chicken, veggies or add to canned diced tomatoes. really? for the 5 calories, it's not worth the stress of remembering. I do log all fruits and veggies.
  • there's a lot of debate on these boards about eating exercise calories - do a search of the boards to get a lot of info and opinions. If you enter your exercise into your log and put in a calorie amount, it will increase you calories allotted for the day if you choose to eat them.
  • you could used reduced fat cream cheese and baked pita chips instead of fried tortilla chips
  • Thanks all! all the suggestions are greatly appreciated... doesn't seem like it should be too hard! Happy Passover to all and welcome to this season!
  • I've done P90X (not fully, I had to return the disks half way through as they were being loaned to me) and you really need to eat back your exercise calories - I think one of the tips of the day is eat enough! Protein is good since you're building muscle, but your body is probably in starvation mode, so any calories might…
  • I used to live in Grafton, MA but moved to NY 2 years ago. I can cheer you on in spirit!! And on MFP!
  • that my most used foods for each meal were the first few things I entered and used for the first few weeks on the site, but are things I now no longer eat, making it harder to enter more commonly used items
  • I go to my farmer's market when the season allows (and by in season produce when at the grocery store). If I'm going to be spending more on food, I'd rather it go to a farmer in my area where he might then be spending money locally, then to a national company's CEO's pocket. I have a great local farmer's market, but it…
  • I was doing P90X before for lifting but had a borrowed set of DVDs which had to be returned. I decided this was a good time to change it up and like ChaLEAN better since so many push ups and pull ups are hard on my joints ( surgeries on one arm, one surgery on the other for orthopedic injuries).
  • I am supposed to do turbofire 55EZ today and am having a hard time getting my butt in gear! the goal is to get it done this afternoon!
  • a pedometer might be a good investment - counts your sets since you're not walking distances. they're not too expensive.
