Hello, from a kilted American! :D

We have a tale in our region about one guy who missed the unwritten memo about going regimental when you're throwing (namely, DON'T). He missed his footing on one event and landed flat on his back, with the kilt flipped up to his chest.

You may have counter-argued yourself in part A. You state that people criticize BMI for being inaccurate, then state that "BMI is more likely to underestimate body fat" - inaccurate is inaccurate, one way or the other. As of the middle of last month, I was 388 lbs with a Bod Pod measured bodyfat percentage of 40% (also confirmed via impedance test that same day). I am 6'2", so that gives me a BMI of 49.8. I had a Bod Pod and an Omron test run the same day, and they were within 1% of each other. If you're going to go with the Omron (or any other impedance test), then definitely go with the "test when you wake up" to get consistent answers. Calipers are good to get an idea of your progress, but can be misleading if you…

The closer you get to your goal, you may want to consider getting a body fat percentage check - depending on your build, your BMI may mislead you. Especially if you are adding exercise to your weight loss plan. You may end up being higher than "healthy" BMI, but at a healthy body fat % (which is the better goal).
