xkit: My Love Story is a hit out of the park. My wife and I kept busting out laughing because it kept striking too close to home (I'm a 6'2", 350+ member of the Brute Squad, and she's 4'10" - it was a little like they took our dating years and made an anime.)

This is why I've avoided doctors for so many years. I went for two physical checkups at different doctors, and each one of them brought out that damned weight/height chart. I have NEVER been on that chart (11.5 lbs at birth, and have been a bit of a giant ever since). I know I'm overweight (that's why I'm here), but it's…

http://iifym.com/tdee-calculator/ Put your numbers in there and it'll give you a pretty sharp estimate. It came within 3% of what I got tested for at the university.

Get your body fat percentage tested, as that affects your TDEE greatly. If you've got more lean mass, you'll burn a lot more than someone with more fat. The difference can be as much as a half to full pound of weight loss a week.

It's been a long day. I was calculating half of the existing fat instead of recalculating based on ending weight. And I'm not really looking to gain muscle, but if it happens, it happens. I just started doing some serious arm workouts (I've been a squat and leg guy for the most part), so I may gain some size there, but…

I just have to chime in here, as I've been thinking about this whole BMI thing for almost a month now. I got my body fat tested (by BodPod - much more accurate than calipers or electrical impedence) early this month, and got the following results: Height: 6'2" Weight: 388.8 lbs Body fat: 40% (I've got some work to do) Lean…

If you're lifting (and NROLFW is a great system, btw), then you should really check your current fat percentage if you can. It makes a MAJOR difference in your TDEE - a 5% difference in bodyfat on a 180 lb person can equate to 100 calories difference in TDEE. The following calculator is pretty accurate - I tested it by…

Those days stink - I get them way too often. I did a little experimenting, and found that it's not how much I'm eating, but rather what I'm eating. In particular, how difficult is it from "the food is in my mouth" to "I'm swallowing". If I go for chips or cookies, it's just "chew chew swallow" as they break apart real…

The only cosplay I've done, and it's only been at one con so far. The dang thing just about fell apart at the end and I have to rebuild it.

My oldest is 5, and I will let him watch me play RPGs like FF or Chrono Trigger, and some cartoon violence like DBZ Battle of Z. I reserve the more "stress-relieving" games like Mortal Kombat and Splatterhouse for when they're asleep. As for what I'll let him play, it's usually the Lego games (he loves the puzzle-solving…

I've always read that 30% of your calories from protein is a good ratio when you're exercising, for both recovery and muscle maintenance. This means about I'm in the same boat of trying to get enough protein, though - due to my size, I'm supposed to be eating 200+ grams of protein a day, and it's a struggle!

My nerdy motivation is: 1. To keep in shape long enough to help my boys train for the Highland games when they get older (I don't care what people say - you have to be a little nerdy to wear a kilt!) 2. To look better in my Nappa cosplay. I want the arms to match the legs.

Hey everyone! My name is Will and my superpower is... umm... I throw telephone poles and big rocks on weekends, and save computers from certain death on the weekdays. At night I become Superdad and try to keep two mini-villains from destroying their surroundings. All while watching anime, surfing the net, and/or just…

The funny story behind it: After getting the design, I took it to a local place that I researched online. The artist who was to do the work asked how large I wanted it, so I said from shoulder to elbow. At this time I had on an oversized Hawaiian shirt and he didn't really take a close look at my arm. So he quoted $300 for…

I have to guess soldier. The hair gives it away, but the camo helps.

Check the profile pic - mine is a custom take on "Man's Ruin" - instead of alcohol, gambling, and women I have: 1. Anime (the Scottish lass in the middle) 2. Videogames (the PS3 controller) 3. Games (the Munchkin dice) 4. Highland Games (the Scottish flag, the kilt, the throwing hammer and boots, and the throwing weight)…

Mind if I join in? I need a little "push" to keep me focused on my goals. This week's goals: 1. Wean myself more off of junk calories 2. Try to work in some time to get to the gym (I'm on call this week and that limits my availability) 3. Clean the home office/man cave 4. Get my macros more in line. #4 is my big rant this…

Tim Storms or J.D. Sumner. I've already got a deep singing voice, and I'd love to be able to make a subwoofer shake.
