Hi there, been a few days. Was super-chuffed to have lost half a kg but it’s gone right back on. Am eating ok I think so this must be a Dreaded Plateau. I was due one so probably shouldn’t be surprised. It’s odd how demotivating it is though. Today I very nearly went on a mad carb binge through the kitchen. Not quite sure…

@SweatsOnSunday you inspired me to do a YouTube yoga session this evening and I’m feeling fabulous! It’s been too long since I did any stretching exercises and my body is feeling wonderful now. And I’m absolutely sure I will be stiff and sore from it tomorrow! Gyms are shut here now, it’s cold and dark and icy, and I had…

Seriously @dukare you are doing amazing. I can remember when a shower needed to be planned and negotiated for (my first was a high maintenance baby!). Bravo on working out and celebrate every win! 9 months on... 9 months off. You’re way ahead of the curve 👏 @laurenebargar welcome back after your weekend. Below TDEE is…

Mince pies were only 20p in the local artisan bakers, but I didn’t buy any! That is HUGE for me.

Good evening all! @HealthyTrent no idea what to say to the family history except for how truly sorry am to hear what you’ve lived through, and how impressed I am with the strength you’ve consistently shown on here. Taking a day to mourn in whatever way works for you is not only human, but right. Hugs. Great job on your…

How good food tastes when you’re genuinely hungry for it. Thinking of cold water on a hot day, or this morning’s marmalade on toast with tea. Bliss!

Thoughtful... I agree with a lot of what you say here. For me, this is EXACTLY the approach I took when wondering if I should even bother this time round. However I am now finding mini-goals with dates motivating. It’s not crazy stuff, just extrapolating from current weight loss rates. The thing is, I seem to live very…

Healthy weight by Valentine’s... not sure it’s achievable but that’s what is motivating me now. 3kg to go...

Welcome @tinybry and @SweatsOnSunday! @tinybry youre just down the road from me: I’m in the Cotswolds. Hope you enjoyed the snow today? We had a lovely walk near Stroud in the unexpectedly lovely weather. @SweatsOnSunday sounds tough but wow within 10 lbs of goal?! If it’s gone on fast it will come off fast too so expect…

Hi @callsitlikeiseeit and @renaegry amd welcome! Checking in for yesterday, which was a Good Day. I weighed in at my pre-Christmas weight, which means I’m back to 10kg until my GW. Wish it could have kept coming off over Xmas but that wasn’t realistic. While on holiday we’re all walking a bit more. Lots of frosty mornings…

That’s brilliant @HealthyTrent! All that walking has definitely paid off. We’ve done loads of walking over the holidays to get out of the house and it does make me hungry... I’ve decided to prioritise weight loss over fitness for the first half of this year. I know that sounds daft, but exercise makes me so HUNGRY. I…

Depends on the time of day. Totally spoiled by the local tea shop, who sell these teas loose leaved by the bagful. Blue lady in the morning Orange blossom oolong is my current midday tea (a seasonal treat) but that’s only till it runs out Evening White Downey tea (less caffeine) Blue lady is my absolute all time favourite…

There’s so many good suggestions above. My two bits: Think about your current favourite meal (takeout/reddimeal whatever). Google a recipe online for it, with all the trimmings, that looks doable. Get the right ingredients and the right cooking kit (pans, knives). Then MAKE the meal and enjoy the hell out of it. It might…

Had a bit of an epiphany this morning, when I noticed I was cold. That’s pretty much normal for when I am losing weight, and something loads of people on MFP comment on. I’d assumed it was due to less insulation as the fat came off but I wasn’t cold AT ALL over Christmas. And I was eating more. And I barely gained any…

@laurenebargar hope your first day back at work went well? @HealthyTrent hows the new rower working out? For those of you working in healthcare through this, you’re all absolute heroes. I hope you can feel the love and gratitude being sent your way from pretty much everyone! I’ve decided today was the last day of Christmas…

@HealthyTrent The problem with the treadmill is space, rather than affordability. Our house isn’t small but with 4 of us rattling about there’s little space for new kit. I imagine if there was a folding one that might work... may research this. Lovely that you have a nature reserve nearby. Am guessing you’re reasonably…
-
@goatelope and @BronTonRollyBeau welcome! @HealthyTrent your day sounds brilliant! I really envy you your treadmill, as these walking movie sessions are obviously the best compromise. We were talking about turning one of our sheds into a gym with a treadmill and a turbo trainer (and a telly obviously) but got solar panels…

I’m aiming for 63kg - at 73kg now so just the tricky last 10 to burn off. Close enough?

Hit my Xmas stretch target a day early and rewarded myself with a rummage into my old clothes. As a result I am in UK size 12 skinny jeans for Xmas day rather than bulging out of my size 14 “comfy” clothes.
-
Hullo all, hope you’re off having fun?! It’s been a pretty good day here. The sun was out and we got a nice family walk in despite the localised flooding in our local park. I’m super-chuffed having hit my stretch Xmas target for both weight and waist, so I did a dive into my old clothes and now have a whole new load of…

Oh, and here’s the finished Christmas cake! Merry Christmas everyone :)

Hi all, checking in after supper (which is the end of my eating day). Had planned out a nice light day and then my son heated some veggie spring rolls for lunch and my husband made a fruit salad for dessert. Both delicious and reasonably healthy additions but pushed me over my target. Oh well... we’ll see how tomorrow…

Checking in... in the evening for once! It was a really active day, with a lovely hack out with my daughter and then a walk with my son. Horrid mud but it’s December so 🤷♀️. Food was good too. My son chose a Gordon Ramsay steak fajita recipe which turned out delicious and I managed to keep to just one tortilla wrap, which…

Boots! I retired these kick-*kitten* boots over a year ago as they wouldn’t zip up. Now they’re baaaaaaack 🥰

Oh @Dukare I feel you on the lost post... ive done that more than once! Sounds like you’ve a good plan for the holidays -and the baby will get easier every day! @laurenebargar welcome! I’m not sure about the others but I think most of us are pretty new. Sounds like your story is familiar... I know the feeling of trying…
-
@HealthyTrent congratulations on your successes... they had to come given how hard you were working but it’s great to really see it in numbers! @MyEvolvingJourney welcome! I’m just a bit taller than you, 5’5 and have bounced up and down the scales over the years. It’s different when you’ve seen success before... I’m…

Good morning everyone! It’s a glorious day and we’re about to head out to get the Christmas tree. We decorate the cake later and it really feels like the holidays are starting! Thank goodness where I am is staying in Tier 2... I feel so sorry for folks in the southeast who are now fully locked down 🙁 Looking up at all the…

@HealthyTrent the recipe thing sadly doesn’t really work for me. Most of what we eat as a family (at mealtimes) is pretty healthy so not an issue, but it’s either make the full fat version of treats (in which everyone eats it) or the lighter version, when it falls to me to eat it all so I gain less pleasure and more…

Oh and @dukare congrats on the amazing nights’ sleep! I only dreamed of those for months with #2 child, so looks like you have it cracked!

Something I’m finding sad this year is how reluctant I am to do the Xmas baking. It’s (reasonably) easy to say no to shop bought stuff, but I now have the time and energy to be making some really yummy stuff which I would then want to eat. I mean I found a recipe for pannetone for goodness sake!!! So far I’ve only done an…
