My advice is to cut some of the carb rich foods out and double the vegetables. If you fill up on veg, then it won't be so bad to miss the rice and potatoes!

I had read somewhere that our bodies don't metabolize carbs after a certain hour in the day, so maybe you could try to eat your oatmeal for breakfast, then a salad for lunch and a veg and protein for dinner.

I have two children also, and it is hard to find time!! They are in sports and piano and between pick ups and drops offs, homework, games, dinner, and working full time, I don't have the time!
