Wow, what a transformation! You look amazing. We're about the same height and 170 is my goal weight. Seeing your results is very inspirational! :)

Terrific milestone! Way to go! :)

Did someone say BACON? Also: Yes, I love me some Epic Meal Time. No shame.

Mine is set at 1680 for a 2lb/week loss. I usually eat back some (rarely all) of my exercise calories, and end up netting 1500/day on average. I've lost roughly 2lbs/week since I started here 6 weeks ago.

Yes, you can definitely do it! That puts you at a loss of ~1.1 pound/week, which is very safe and realistic. If it helps, I've lost 15 pounds in just under 2 months, and I'm aiming to lose 65 overall.

Make him watch this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_qDc3bvLypA If Alton Brown can't help, then all hope is lost.

This might sound cliche, but chocolate. I love good, dark chocolate with nothing else added. At least with portion control I've learned to savor it and make it a special treat. A half-ounce square lasts a good five minutes; a few months ago I'd have an entire bar finished off in half that time. :p

This has already happened to me already. A couple of weeks ago I craved a giant, greasy cheeseburger and fries. I didn't get one at the time, but I did on Father's Day. (Going out for fast food burgers was my dad's choice.) And you know what happened? It made me feel like crap! I'd been eating pretty healthy for a good…

Pistachios! I used to be an addict. I'd go through an entire one-pound bag in two days--only one sitting on bad days! Good thing I started caring about portion sizes; otherwise I'd be even more broke than I already am.

I bought a Brita water bottle a couple of weeks ago. I carry it everywhere with me and always have good-tasting water. It's awesome for when I'm at work, because the tap water there is kinda gross. The bottle sells for around $9, and you have to buy a new filter every few months, but when you think about how expensive…

I tried out phase one today (I mean yesterday, the 24th, whatever. Dang I need to go to bed!) and I actually enjoyed it. I was worried it was going to kill me within the first five minutes. I've been working out regularly for nearly two months now, so I think that made me somewhat prepared. But don't get me wrong: Jillian…

Yay! it's an amazing feeling, and a great NSV, isn't it? Keep it up and you'll be running that 5K like a pro. :D Also, my banner ad for this topic is for a marathon/half-marathon. lol

Wow! Great job :)

Wow, so many replies! Thanks so much everyone :D Haha, yeah, I got them about 5 years ago (when I weighed around 180) because I thought they looked great on me then.

This thread is making me laugh my bass off.

That's great! :)

Yes! Huge difference! I like how you said you deleted 15 pounds instead of losing them, because you don't want to find them again. I may have to start using that. :D

Currently a liquor store cashier, but hopefully I will soon be working in police records. *fingers crossed*

When I started running I ended up getting custom fitted at a running shoe specialty store. If you can find that kind of store near you, I recommend checking it out. There's a ton of running shoe styles and brands out there, but talking to a specialist can help you find a pair that's perfect for your feet, condition,…

I am NOT a morning person in the slightest, so I don't get up earlier than necessary to get to work on time. Depending on my shift, I'm home anytime between 6-10pm, so my workouts usually run pretty late in the day. On my days off, I try to aim for early-to-mid afternoon. Granted, I work a retail job that keeps me on my…

This is a great idea! I should try it more often Today (June 11) 1) Hit my first weight loss milestone: 10 pounds down! :) 2) Did 30 minutes of yoga and tried a few new poses 3) Opted for green beans instead of tater tots for dinner Yesterday (June 10) 1) Consumed 136g (!) of protein... 2) ...which helped power me through…

Yesterday I tried a workout video that includes a combination of all those. (Except for the step ups, as it's 100% equipment-free.) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-qiGolF8Vs8 It kicked my butt, but making it through all 10 minutes felt great! :)

Have a friend or family member tell her you died. It's a bit hard to pass off without raising suspicion, but just make sure to include that your body was lost at sea and that the funeral is being held in [insert foreign country of choice] so you can be forever connected to your great-great-grandfather's [insert applicable…

Make sure you drink plenty of water before, after, and occasionally during your workout. My legs were stiff and I hurt all over after my first day of working out. I thought it was just because I was horribly out of shape, but it was actually because I had barely had any water. Once I started staying hydrated, I felt much…

I joined almost a month ago. I've logged every single day, and I have no intention of quitting anytime soon. (It helps that I usually log from my phone, which rarely leaves my sight, so I have no excuse NOT to log!) Having friends on here is an awesome way to stay motivated, but unfortunately a few of mine have disappeared…

SW: 229.1 CW: 228.4 GW: 212 Loss of .7 pounds. I was 227.5 on Monday (my personal weekly weigh-in, though I weigh myself daily) and I haven't blown my calorie allowance, so today's weight was most likely water retention. But at least I lost something! :D

1) I promised myself a haircut if I lost 15 pounds, and it would be awesome to reach that goal this month, because I really, really need one. If I cut my hair short enough I might instantly lose a pound! 2) I want to do some form of exercise every day: 5 days of workout videos, and on the 2 rest days I'll do…

I've lost a newborn. Oh crap. Good thing I don't work in a maternity ward...

I've had one real cheat day so far, and that was at a family cookout. (And with homemade food, and my family's tradition of altering recipes to the extreme, it was impossible to say just how many calories I had that day.) With that exception, I don't set aside cheat days. Instead, I try not to deprive myself of anything.…
