Take advantage of the time you have at home. Look up recipes you may like and try cooking different things. You can freeze them for later lunches, pre-bag healthy snacks, go to the library and pick up exercise videos to try or go online and try some of them. Once you start your classes or get that full time job you will…

Bumping for later. If you pan fry it, how long does that take?

I prefer Asics. I bought a pair of Saucony's and did not like them as much. I have heard Brooks are good too. But i agree, everyone is different and you need to see what works best for you. I do not go cheap on my shoes, it never works for me.

Tell yourself whatever you go over today you have to work off tomorrow. 200 calories is way easier to work off than 700

I find anytime i mix oatmeal in a smoothie i don't like it. And i LOVE oatmeal, just not in a smoothie. It gives it a horrible texture!

I'm in WI and i am thinking of doing a Tough Mudder as well. I have not done anything like it before so am kind of nervous!

Just Google it and you will be able to do something that works for you. I just finished my first half today and i used a program that i found online. Basically one long run a week with 3 or 4 other runs mixed in. I also did some hill work and farkels. You have enough time where any of them should work. Good luck!

I use Endomondo and May my Ride (or run) and Endomondo is always high. May My Run is closest to what my heart rate monitor says so i usually go by that one. I have not tried any others I do love the Endomondo web-site though as i can track my workouts nicely there (slip speeds, etc). And i think the Endomondo app is more…

In the summertime we make pizzas on the grill. We use tortillas, pizza sauce, moz. cheese, and any other toppings that anyone wants. Everyone makes their own and put on the grill until done (2-3 minutes usually). they are a huge hit when we have people over as well. Nice part about it is it is easy to figure out your own…

What the heck is that?

that is really funny

I have both and the treadmill gets used way more.. I also think you shouldn't go cheap if you buy a treadmill but can go cheaper on an elliptical. (just my feeling on it though). I do prefer to run outside too, but in the winter i have to work out inside as it is dark when i get home from work (and i live in the country so…

Bumping for later. My first year running in the cold as well. Thanks to all the posters

Don't use a rubber band, those stick to your hair. Use the covered ones, they are easier on your hair.

Every single post i have seen you reply to has been very fitting to your picture. Just wondering if you plan it that way...

sounds good! Thanks

Anyone have this issue today?

I will definitely try this! Thanks for posting!

Sorry if this is a repeat...i don't feel like looking at all the other posts. We make our own using a tortilla, a little pizza sauce, some cheese and any other ingredients you like to use and grill it on the grill for a couple minutes. My kids love them! And you can control the calories by making your own. sometimes i make…

I encounter dogs a lot. The minute you stop running, they stop chasing. I just say in a even tone "Go home" and try not to sound frightened. I have never been bitten doing this.

I can relate as that is where i hold it too. And, i was wondering how to get rid of it. I think sometimes when you do the same activity day after day your body becomes use to it and it is not as effective anymore. Try switching up some of your workouts. Maybe bike instead of run on some of them. I am training for a half…

Awesome job! You look amazing!!

Do you really jog 10 miles a day? Sorry, i cannot get beyond that. I am thinking you are probably being a bit critical of yourself at 99lbs. Everyone should have some fat. Are you trying to lose weight?

You can do just about any workout at home! The library has a ton of videos or dvd's you can try that range from 20 minutes and over. Or as someone else suggested, you tube has a bunch of workouts. You can do a 20-30 minute circuit of jumping jacks, lunges, squats, bear crawls, etc. Just google circuit training and a lot of…

I have read that it takes about 6 weeks to see results. I think that is probably close for most people.

Wow, good for you for getting off the couch and doing something. Someday you will look back on this post and be amazed at how far you have come! Take it slow to begin with and stretch your muscles gently afterwards.

I take a multi vitamin, calcium, fish oil and glucosamine for my joints (was recommended to me when i started running). My doctor said i should at least be on calcium and a multi vitamin. I don't think anything in really high doses is very good for you so just read the labels.

86 so far... 4 days left. Should just hit 100

A friend of mine used to have the same issue. When we would walk together you could hear it once in a while. She had it checked out and had to have hip surgery. I would recommend having it checked out.

I have done a ton of workout dvd's. I didn't always enjoy it but it was something i needed to do. Commit yourself to 1 hour a day regardless of whether or not you like it and once you get used to it, it won't be so bad. You may even start to look forward to it. If you don't like dvd's, you could try biking, skating or…
