  • lately I have been doing pumpkin pie overnight oats. I would do anything for pumpkin pie though. Once when I was 5 I ate half a pumpkin pie by myself before my parents caught me.
  • you can put your height and weight into endomondo too. I go with endomondo's readings when I use it. It takes in your rate, your average rate and terrain,
  • reading some of this makes me soooooo thankful I have one of the "good" aldi's. They always have bananas, apples, strawberries, blueberries, peaches, plums, and whatever else, along with all the veges. I haven't had a bad produce items. Actually haven't had a bad items. I was wary and tried one new thing each time, that…
  • I love Aldi's. I recently re-discovered them a few months ago. I absolutely love their fit and active chocolate peanut butter protein bars. My kids call them "candy bars" and ask for them all the time. The only thing I found (well my husband actually) didn't like was the cheese. We go to Aldi's get almost everything, then…
  • absolutely wonderful transformation! Well done.
  • If I were you, with my medical background, I would call my Doctor first thing in the morning to see if they had any cancellations. Ask them to call you if someone cancels. Consider going to an urgent care, and if it gets any worse, go to the ER. It could be nothing, or it could be something serious. Don't mess around with…
  • mix it up. You do the wii until you get bored, then change to something else until you get bored. Keep rotating.
  • You really should ask the doc that put you on waiver. Or a physical therapist. I would assume that you could do strength training that involves arms and maybe legs. Back injuries are really something you don't want to mess around with. A simple pulled muscle can escalate to something more if you don't let it rest and heal.…
  • For the constipation: What is your water and fiber intake like? Also have you tried adding Miralax daily? The chronic constipation is not good for your health, and getting that set right may help with your weight loss efforts.
  • If it helps you feel full, then it has helped you drop the pounds by not overeating.
  • As a nurse myself, I can tell you how I personally "let" myself become obese. First, it was happiness. You first find that special someone, you are in love, you are happy, you eat and enjoy each other's company. I am not blaming my husband, but he enjoyed baking and I loved eating it. Then, it was depression. I just did…
  • I never let giving up chocolate cross my mind. I just changed my chocolate. No empty calorie chocolate. My go to chocolate fix is a chocolate protein bar. Not one of those crazy gross 30 grams of protein. Aldi's has some chocolate, and chocolate peanut butter that has 10 grams of protein and tastes pretty good.
  • Didn't read the link because.. well look at the address....
  • I am skipping all replies because I work in an office and I wanted to know, did you tell the nurse you were not fasting? I'm the triage/phone nurse at my office. If get lab results to call with a 124 FASTING glucose from someone without a diabetic diagnosis, the first thing would be to tell the patient the results and that…
  • I never thought about celery to dip in salsa. I'm going to try that!
  • It's interesting you made the comment that everyone tries to get some food before your dad goes and it's all gone. I know one person in particular, that had a very abusive and neglected childhood. They would not feed him for weeks, leaving him to forage the streets, steal from stores or beg from friends. From about age 7…
  • I can't eat greek yogurt plain, but add some fruit and it's delicious. I have it most mornings with oats and fruit. Also a snack sometimes with whatever fruit (or applesauce) is available. It's a staple in diet.
  • Everyone that is worried about their cholesterol, just take a little time and Google some information. Eggs are good for you.
  • Well I didn't say anything about calories in vs calories out. However if you are informed of the risks involved and still want to take the drugs, how about crazy?
  • Just to reiterate what cramernh said, I'm a nurse and I have actually tried the topiramate. The brand name is Topamax - you may have heard of it, it's a seizure medication that is also used as migraine prevention. The other medication - phentermine is 1/2 of the Phen-Fen combo pill that was the "miracle" pill years ago.…
  • I don't know how many times I see this exact same topic. I guess I count myself lucky for researching before I just "went on a diet". I'll share with you a post that has helped me tremendously, and only once have I felt "hungry" following it.…
  • I'm currently doing same shirt/ same angle. I'm not ready to post yet, still a bit self conscious, but another 5 pounds or so, it will be time for another picture. Maybe by then I'll be ready to post it. Love all the pictures so far, very inspiring.
  • woah, you are HOTTT. Fabulous job.
  • When I first started getting in my 64 ounces of water a day, I was going a lot. But after a few weeks, it's slowed down a lot. I have always had to get up and night to go, even before drinking lots of water, so there is nothing unusual for me.
  • I looked at 4 days of your diary and stopped looking. What you eat matters as much as how much in your case. Needing something sweet? try fruit. Need chocolate? Try a protein bar with chocolate, I am in no way saying never eat processed foods or meats or anything, but better options would make you feel better. I could…
  • The only thing I would do right now, along with being supportive, is to get him to agree to try one new food/meal a week. Find a good healthy recipe and say every Sunday night we are going to try something new. Hopefully, he will stop hating newer and healthier foods.
  • I agree. My husband is mostly supportive, but he still likes to make cakes and pies and stuff which I mostly resist but it feels like he's challenging me. "You can have ~some~ of this, it won't hurt" he says. I just see it as a challenge to stick to my guns. If he were to sulk at me not eating his confections, fast food,…
  • 100% agree. How much time do you think you will be needing to study? 2 hours a day should more than enough, at least in the begining
  • The only okra I've had has been fried and it was good. Maybe I should try it minus the grease.
