  • I did a 27k training run this past Sunday, which was the longest I have ever ran, and I actually feel like doing my scheduled run two days later! I'm not too sore or too tired. This feels better than actually covering the distance!
  • I've ran in -20 C, but I usually draw the line at -15 C or so. Makes me a little nervous to go colder.
  • I usually eat back about half the calories if possible, but I believe the app is designed to eat them all back. If you are burning 1000 calories a day in excercise, you should eat at least some back. You do not want a daily net of 500 - 1000 calories! Are you running 10+ kilometers a day to burn that many calories?
  • Yeah, been hearing to use it as a training run from a few friends as well. I gave myself twelve weeks to train, but have missed too may weeks now to make any serious attempt it seems. Thanks for the input.
  • I would combine the two. Strength training will only help your running. A stronger body will help with form and endurance. That said, see how you feel after the runs, don't be hesitant to take a rest day if you are really sore!
  • I have found when increasing your distance/time running that all the apps and programs I have used talk about running at a "conversational pace" to build endurance and add kilometers. A pace where you could hold a conversation to a person next to you with little to no discomfort . If you are finding the need to slow down…
  • I find 165 - 180 to be the sweet spot for me. I wear a monitor when I run, and this allows me to work up a sweat, but not burn out after a short amount of time. A lower heart rate I find will allow you to work out for longer, but 140 does seem low. If you have a set distance/time for your workouts, I would say keep that…
  • I started running last year, and I have found that once I finished the C25K program I thought to myself "Ok, now what?" I then proceeded to 10k, then it was "Ok, now what?" again. I just finished a half marathon three weeks ago. I had a four month training program that took me four and a half months as I took some rest…
