  • Chuck Norris' shadow can bench 250 lb.
  • My sammich making skills far exceed those of my wife. Heck, she won't even look at lunch meat, never mind prepare a meal with it.
  • I think this is true. They are making sure there is a dry patch to lay on later.
  • I am on a fixed payment plan of $175 per month for the year. Some monthly bills are well over $300. I live in New England and the spike is from air conditioning costs (3 window units).
  • Personally, I am much more critical of my own stretchmarks than I am of any woman's.
  • I just had to tell you I love the "gypsies" reference. My mother always used them in her threats when I was a child, although she never expected to turn a profit. To the OP's original question...I would have to say boys. I have 2 boys and a daughter. My first son (so far) has been the most difficult to handle. He has…
  • "Legend" with Tom Cruise "The Last Starfighter" "Shogun" was an amazing made-for-TV miniseries....great if you have 8 hours to kill "Labyrinth" I know most people know about it...but I can't leave it out of any "favorite movie" discussion
  • OMG!! I haven't even heard this movie mentioned in years, never mind seen it. I am going to have to go looking for it. Great call!
  • I have to go with my wife's hips. I prefer a woman with curves and her hips are incredibly sexy.
  • . Just wondering how many friend requests this generated...
  • Sodium is almost always the culprit for an "unexpected" gain for me, though I have now come to expect it. Dine-out Chinese food can cause me to gain 4 lbs over 24-48 hours. It seems to take me several days of drinking lots of extra water to get back to a normal weight.
  • If this was the Amesbury run in MA, I was there too! As this was my first Warrior Dash, I am soooo glad that it was as muddy as it was. It allowed me to enjoy it as an event, rather than stress about a time. For anyone even considering it, it is worth every penny. Bring your friends and a positive attitude. The rest will…
  • Excellent job!! I was in a similar situation (High cholesterol and High BP).and was sitting in the "obese" category. I dropped about 50 lbs (now "overweight") and my cholesterol and BP are now perfect. Exercise and diet change really do work!
  • Besides Arliss, Travis, and Momma, I too was crying!

  • This is a timely topic, since I had my own sodium related catastrophe this morning.... I exercise regularly (50 mins or more of intense cardio per day) 6x per week. Yesterday morning I burned 1500 cals playing full court basketball for 90+ mins. I had my usual breakfast (cheerios/milk/coffee), but went a little overboard…
  • I forgot to mention that I hit a personal best today. Amid my 30 min run (3.4 miles), I did an 8 minute mile. I had run faster previously, but not for a full mile. It was nice to log 7.5 mph for the whole 8 mins and still have enough juice to finish the rest of my run. It really is amazing how much we can do when we make…
  • I find the HRM function to be accurate on my watch (I compared it to the HRM on a treadmill today). What I know to be inaccurate is the total calories burned calculation that my watch gives me. I don't trust it, so I take my avg HR for my workout and log it into a more trustworthy calculator that I have found online. Here…
  • I am 33 and have 3 children (11, 6, 2). I started my weight loss journey in August 2010 @ 275 lbs. I am currently 227 and looking to hit 215 in the next couple of months. I am 6'2". I do cardio 6x a week (minimum) with Sundays as a day of rest. I aim to burn around 750 - 900 calories per workout. I was running a 5k (3.1…
  • One more thought, for those of you starting your journey or just needing a little push back in the right direction... I am a "live to eat" and not an "eat to live" kind of guy. I LOVE FOOD! However....once I began to understand (at a very fundamental level) the caloric difference between pre-process/fast foods versus a…
  • I haven't yet set up a follow-up physical with my doctor, but I am very confident that my BP is now in check. After only a few weeks of cardio and eliminating fast food, by BP was within a normal range when I had to go for a sick visit. I have also stopped getting headaches, which I had always attributed (at least in part)…
  • I am not doing strength training currently. I did for about 2 months, but with the addition of running 6x per week and basketball about 3x per week, my body wasn't handling all of the stress very well. I picked running over strength training for my short-term goal of the weight loss. I will probably reintroduce the weights…
  • Just pics in my profile for now.
  • Exercise. It really works. I have built myself up to doing roughly 45 mins of cardio 6x a week. A good sweat is a sure sign of progress.
