  • I second this -- the heat seems to make the protein powder chunky. It does not mix well. I read about people doing it (on MFP) and I don't know what kind of protein powder they're using, but it's certainly not the same kind as me, lol.
  • This happened to me every time I tried to eat yogurt regularly (I blamed it on an inbalance in my gut flora). After maybe a week or two your body should adjust. If you like the yogurt that much, just stick with it and see what happens : )
  • Where can you buy stevia plants?
  • That's a good question because I use to use about 10 packets of Truvia every day :ohwell:
  • I primarily use sweeteners in my coffee and occasionally in my smoothies .After using Truvia for the past couple years, I recently switched to Stevia and I noticed a distinct difference in the flavor. Although, I only notice the difference in taste when I use it in my coffee. I wouldn't say that Stevia tastes "bad" ...it's…
  • You really just need to find the method that works for your body. I had a friend who lost a lot of weight by eating 6 small meals a day. She believed it raised her metablolism. I've tried it, found it very difficult, and did not see the same results. She and I also have very different body types. Similarly, my boyfriend…

  • allergic to coffee? I've never heard of this before... how did you find out (what were your symptoms/reactionsm -- if you don't mind me asking)?
  • Crossfit intrigues me... do you know how it compares to Insanity? Just curious because I'm in the middle of Month 2 of Insanity and it's murderous.
  • I can't deny the science behind genetics; however, I doubt if either of my parents had a six pack (or anything relatively close) after their teenage years. And the majority of my family members could probably stand to lose 10-20lbs or more. But they've also never worked out like I do... as far as I know. My point is that,…
  • No, I haven't tried it. What made you try it in the first place? Not sure if this is a ridiculous question or not, but here it goes: Would hemp protein powder alter the results of a drug test? (Need to take one for employment in the near future).
  • I recently stopped adding ground flax to my smoothies and salads -- I didn't notice any difference in my hunger level or digestion. I was pretty disappointed, particularly after reading such great things about flax.
  • Although there's conflicting information everywhere, I definitely believe there is some truth to your words. However, if you were hungry in the morning, would you eat? How long have you been doing this? And have you noticed any positive or negative changes? Just curious... Thanks!
  • Holly, how is your Insanity going? (I'm doing it too -- currently in Week 2 of Month 2). Good luck!
  • Wow, this is truly some of the best advice I've heard in a long time. I second everything!
  • I hope you give your Vibrams a fair chance! Three weeks to decide if you like them seems a little short -- considering the adjustment period. Your calves will definitely be sore! ...I hope you're patient with them and learn to love them! I have two pairs and I highly recommend them! Best of luck!
  • Of course every one is different : ) I've read that certain blood types are known for having distinctly low levels of stomach acid, particularly Type As (positive or negative is apparently irrelevant). So, in contrast, I guess that would mean other types have much higher levels... unless, of course, you totally destroy…
  • Very interesting. I have a friend who deliberately stops consuming liquids 15 minutes prior to eating because he believes something very similar -- it disruptes the body's natural digestion/acid production. I've tried it, but it's difficult for me --I'm always drinking a lot of water -- especially when I eat. I believe the…
  • Month 2 = Murderous workouts & RESULTS!! : )
  • Me too. I'll obsess until it's gone (meaning, I ate it all... to which I replace the obsession with self-hatred, lol).
  • I no longer believe in moderation. I have tried coutless times, but it's just not something that agrees with me. It REALLY DOES require "enourmous self-control" when I attempt to do something in moderation. As opposed to completely eliminating something (or the opposite - doing it all the time), it becomes easy -- as if…
  • This happens to me too. I also noticed that if I eat a large breakfast, my willpower to eat right is weakened for the rest of the day.
  • crap.
  • I consider myself relatively strong; however, doing even ONE push up with my elbows close to my body is virtually impossible. I've been attempting to do them in my Insanity workouts, but I an barely go down (far enough to count as a push up) and my form suffers incredibly when I attempt to come back up. I'm some what…
  • How much do you add? And does it change the consistency of your coffee?
  • Any ideas on how I can make a relatively low cal protein shake so thick that I have no choice but to eat it with a spoon? Ice doesn't seem to get the desired thickness/texture. I noticed that casein protein thickens up a lot more, but I recently switched to whey.
  • Lol, I fall/trip when I run outside :blushing:
  • Me too! Without even trying, I run significantly faster (and with greater ease) outside than I do on a treadmill. But I love both for different reasons.
  • Has anyone ever skipped over the Recovery Week and went straight into Month 2? I've completed two days of the RW and I'm itching for something more (namley, a murderous Month 2).
