Hoping it's not too late to join this? I've lost and gained weight over the past 5 years, seem to add on more pounds each time and now I'm wanting to get rid of it for good. Started on Jan 2. SW 230 CW 226 GW Around 150 would be amazing GOALS Log food x 7 Exercise x 4 (aim 200 cal burn min) Always take lunch to work No…

The end of winter is maybe just wishful thinking on my part! I honestly think that as soon as I stop weighing, I put my head in the sand and bad habits return without me really noticing my weight creep up again. Which makes a 2lb gain turn into a 4lb gain etc Definitely need to be in an exercise routine, hopefully buying a…

Hoping to boost weight loss by cycling. I live in Scotland and want to clock up some miles in different parts of the country if possible.

Hit a stone on a smooth path, wobbled and fell downhill into 5ft nettles. Caught on camera! Not used to power of disc brakes on my bike, hit the front brake too hard at edge of cycleway, flipped over, crashing into the ground, bike landed on top of me. Sat for a while dazed thinking "Wow, that was close, lucky I never…

Been absent on the site for a while but I'm back, I'm motivated and... I'M IN!!!

Yeah I agree that a lot of these shows go for shock tactics and I guess it's for the benefit of us at home, for us all to be appalled at the volume of food and see if they can be 'broken' like some kind of gameshow :( I guess the difference between alcoholism, drug addiction and food disorders is that they often advise a…

Grilled or baked salmon fillet 160 cals Roasted red pepper 30 cals Cous cous flavoured with lemon and garlic 112 cals = 302 cals Use half a pepper for 287 cals :)

Gay female, 30 years old from Scotland. Not new to MFP but back after a break. Add me if you like x

Soon after I started on MFP I started studying labels to see what was actually in the food I was eating. It soon shocked me that the 'healthy' chicken salad sandwich I was having at work was as bad as a double cheeseburger from McD's. So by preparing the food yourself, you can cut out most of the invisible crap they put in…

Let's test this theory: God. Stuck with this photo for another ten years.

I quit my job on Thursday and start a new one on Monday. Eeeeek! Previous: Desk job doing finance/admin in big retail hellpit. New job: On-train crew hospitality. I know, completely different.

Got real bad leg pain/shinsplints after week 1 of Couch to 5k but your post and all the replies here has encouraged me to do some exercises and have an ice bath so I can get out there and give it another shot today. I never imagined in little over a week, I would be anxious to get back to running.
-
Don't go too fast, my first week has given me shinsplints and kind of hesitant to continue with the program :(
-
Legs very sore from C25K (shinsplints? sooo sore...) so much of my target will be walking.
-
Walking to work and in and around town, more than I thought I'd walked so closer to the 100 mark lol
-
Beginning to regret my 100 miles target lol
-
And so it begins...

Hahaha looks amazing, too far from my neck of the woods though :(

Great, thanks dinos. This is my first challenge, how often should I update? Do I just update my ticker and post in the thread?
-
No worries, I have no clue how to edit it as I progress, hopefully someone will be along soon who knows more.
-
Go to www.tickerfactory.com and make the ticker. I just copy and pasted the BB code into my post but I'm sure there's a simpler/automatic way of doing it. Planning to get in a few miles today. Let's do this!!!

Testing ticker...

New to MYAC, started C25K so will do a mix of walking/running. I'll go for 100 miles.
-
Started C25K this week. It's making me realise that yes, I am unfit and will struggle for a while, but I'm enjoying the feeling of running. The weather's been wet this week which I have enjoyed as I get very hot and red and puffy lol so the rain cools me down. Sitting at the window right now praying for rain so I can get…

Lol thanks for replies, I think I probably won't bother with those weights. When I did 30 Day Shred I used drinks bottles (1litre so 1kg) which weren't very challenging. I have a resistance band but I'm guessing that won't make me break a sweat either. Think I'll go with the body weight workouts for my strength training as…

An HRM set up correctly will give a calorie burn, some of the apps will also estimate your burn based on the pace etc.
-
Push ups are my real weakness but you're probably right, I'll check out some body weight workouts and hopefully build up to them (my arms are so weak lol)
