Funny, cuz I actually rang in my New Year playing JD4 with my kids- yes, pretty wild, I know! LOL I don't know how often I'll get to play, but I hope to play a few hours a week. You should find a funky JD pic to add to the group page, just an idea :)

My ultimate goal is to lose 50 lbs by the end of 2014- with or without WLS... But I'd also like to be more active and participate in the Day of the Dead 5k in November.

I am a high school teacher from Chicago. The weather here has been amazing; wind chills of -45! School was closed 2 days this week, which never happens for us! We are looking forward to a "warm up" of 35 degrees ABOVE zero :) this weekend! I can't wait to be outside for a bit, cabin fever is getting pretty bad around here.

I'm heading into my 5th doctor's appointment this month. I will meet with the surgeon and have all paperwork submitted to insurance. I hope to have a date for surgery at my 6th appointment where I will meet with dietician and begin pre-op diet. I hope to have RNY by late March. At this time, I have been trying out…

This story was so cool and inspiring. Thanks for sharing!

I'm going to put in another vote for Leslie Sansone's "Walk Away the Pounds". She is pretty chatty, so I put her on mute and play my favorite music instead. Her steps are low impact and easy to follow. I've also been starting with "Just My Size" Yoga with Megan Garcia- and it's a great way to get moving in a slow way. Both…

I'm hoping that I'll have news about my surgery date by March 1st! Until then, I'm definitely joining this group to keep things moving in the right direction. CW: 302 GW: 287 Good luck everybody!

Workout to music that you love- my new hobby is searching for music and creating playlists!

I have always enjoyed The Biggest Loser series and lately have been looking into Bob Harper's new line of videos. Also, youtube has many videos uploaded that you can put into a personal playlist.

Congrats to all! I just wanted to add that I was able to say no to all holiday goodies- I stuck with fresh fruits, veggies, and high/lean proteins! I'm feeling very proud of myself today- great way to start the new year!

Just in case things get busy over the next few days; I had a check up today with dr. and decided to post early- I met my goal PLUS 2 lbs! I made a new goal of losing 8 more by my next Dr.'s appt on 1/13! But I'll repost that goal on the new challenge thread- when it's posted! Good luck peeps!

The Biggest Loser and Bob Harper's line of dvds are pretty sweet- many to choose from for all levels of fitness.

I love The Biggest Loser and Bob Harper series of dvds; there are many to choose from at all levels. They're pretty cheap at Wally World and Amazon too!

Never ever heard of this- but I will mos def check this out!

I am finishing up my 6 month appts and I hope to have surgery scheduled Feb/March. I will be incorporating liquid meal replacements soon in order to prepare for what is to come. Please feel free to send me a friend request so that we can support each other on this journey!

My relapse story is that I'm back again and at my highest weight ever. I'm also working towards weight loss surgery within 2-3 months. I'm currently working on building good habits so that my mind plays along with my new body in the coming months.

I use an awesome little app on my phone- Day One Journal. There are many phone apps, but this one is pretty fabulous!

Although I'm very late to jump on this train- I'm in. I'm about 3 months pre surgery and I need to get things moving in the right direction. My next dr visit isn't til 1/13, so I'll be updating my loss a little late too. CW: 318 GW: 310

I'm about 3 months pre surgery so I'm still reading and researching about this new way of life. I quit smoking and drinking carbonated beverages. I'm hoping to lose 10 lbs before my last appt.

Thank you all for your input! I still have a few months before I decide how I'm going to approach this, but it helps knowing how other people handled their situations. I will keep you posted.

45 minute brisk walk along Chicago's lakefront on a 70-something degree day! Perfect way to spend Labor Day!

I'm on the south side of Chi :)

I always feel like I had to come out twice- once as a lesbian and then again as butch. I actually didn't realize I was butch until somebody pointed it out to me :)

I have been working out and eating better since May and I have lost almost 30 lbs. I am 275 lbs. and I've been doing C25K for a few weeks and I am not ready to move past Week 1 yet and I'm totally ok with that! I believe that I walk faster that I "run" and I'm ok with that too ;) The point is that I am outside in the cold…
-
THIS!!! I am going on my 3rd week of Week 1 :) And this is after trying and giving up C25K over the summer. I probably walk faster than I jog, but that doesn't matter to me. What matters is that I can jog comfortably and not feel like I'm going to have a heart attack! To me, that is success!

Hey- so we meet again! LOL I am mostly walking with a few other workouts thrown in here and there- Zumba and Bootcamp, etc- and I plan on just trying to do my best to not eat junk. I aim to have more good days than bad and it's been working for me so far :) It's a slow, but sure process. Today I walked about 4 miles along…

I'm jumping in a little late on this one, but I still need to get motivated, so I'm in! 10 lbs. by 12/25 is realistic for me... I think! LOL I woke up at 5 am today and walked 2 miles :) Off to a great start ! 11/6 SW: 275 lbs
