  • Fantastic - what an amazing transformation already! Be proud of yourself and keep it up. Do you feel as good as you look?
  • today was a slow day for excercise but a busy one at work. I put on 2.63 miles (walking around 3.5 - 4.0) I also snuck in 20 flights of stairs (both up and down). Tonight meeting a friend for her birthday so no workout but tomorrow is a full workout day. See you then!
  • Hi, again thanks for letting me join in. Today (Monday,) I did the following: 20 flights of stairs = 8 minutes Walking 3.0 = 27 min Walking 4.0 = 30 min Running 5.2 = 8 min Arm weights = 10 min stretching = 5 min All this from someone who NEVER works out on Monday! Not bad - thanks for the push! off to the shower, see you…
  • I've been training for my first 8k race and I am so excited! It's hard work but I am LOVING IT! A marathon....hmmmm I don't think so at this point but always something to shoot for. Good luckand keep up the amazing work!
  • I read/heard somewhere to drink half your weight in ounces. A 150 lb person would drink 75 oz per day. I don't know how reliable this information is but I've heard it more than once.
  • This is so excellent! I usually HATE excercising on a Monday (True story... I don't know why) but now I am pumped and already have my clothes laid out for the morning. Talk to you all tomorrow - have a good evening ~gina
  • I would love to join but when I looked on the topics in fitness i did not see the thread. Please let me know what to do because this would be totally motivating for me. thanks!
  • I would love to join. I don't know how though so please give me direction. I think this is a great idea! I have a competitive streak in me and this would help me be accountable to do the extra mile so to speak! Look forward to hearing from you.
  • I just read this and thought it was appropriate: If you have made mistakes...there is always another chance for you. You may have a frest start at any moment you choose, for tjhe thing we call "failure" is not the falling down, but the staying down. KICK BUTT!!
  • Sounds right up my alley - thanks! Plus the crunchy makes it last longer because you have to chew so much LOL. Can't wait to try it. Do you know how much sodium and sugar? I suppose that would depend on what dressing you use, right?
  • Welcome - I love this site! It holds me accountable to myself and others and that seems to help me stay on track with my healthy habits. Losing a little weight on the way is a bonus. The one thing I did not do until later was read the intro in the posts. It helped me (even though I was a little slow in reading it LOL) Glad…
  • I had the same problem but I went to a running store and got fitted for shoes. Also, I tied them way to tight. Just pull the slack out of the laces for a snug but not tight fit. It made all the difference for me. Hope it helps you too!
  • I like what she said "just plan for it". you would be surprised how that helps. I look up my meals before I actually eat them more often than not.
  • I like that you said "almost gave in". I think initially you have to be pretty strong and stay on target. As you go along you can allow yourself a few things here and there but right now it's important to change your habits or else you will fall into the trap of a little here, a little there and that adds up. I eat so much…
  • I am running an 8k (my first) at the end of March. I have been training for the past four weeks and have already dramatically improved my times. I read and have been following Galloway's 5k/10k Running book. Very easy read and I have found it very helpful for me, someone who knew nothing about running, form, breating etc.…
  • Challenge....I love it! I would love to join you too....please let me know how it works.
  • Have you had a check up with your MD lately to make sure there is no underlying reason for the lack of weight loss. I agree that you should not give up. Are you measuring food, most people typically under-estimate amounts when trying to eye ball. Calorie intake can be much higher than you think so measuring is very…
  • I have been using the training guide from Galloway's 5k/10k running book. It includes a walk/run pattern to build endurance. I actually did the 4 miles today with very little walking, mostly running and have gone from a 14 minute mile to 10.08 in three weeks. I know that is not fast but I will continue to improve. His…
  • You can and will do it. It takes a little work, but you will find yourself enjoying it. Remember it takes around 21 days to make or break a habit. Exercise for 21 days straight at different levels so you don't burn out and you will be amazed that you will actually enjoy it and miss it when you miss a day. Good luck and…
  • that's great...you should be proud! I just started running as well. I have improved my time dramatically in just 3 weeks. I am doing an 8k race at the end of March (21st) and can hardly wait. My 20 year old daughter who is a runner is helping me stay motivated and we did a great 4 mile run this morning on a trail following…
  • Well said!
  • Hi & welcome! This site can be fun too! Helps me keep a positive and healthy attitude, not just focus on weight loss. It's more about health for me. Get caught up in this site (but not to much so you are sitting in front of the computer instead of working out LOL) - it really helps plus you make new friends I improved my…
  • Do you know what the 30 day shred would be considered?
  • I agree - I just did this yesterday and I cannot believe the difference. I ended up with saucony's too. good luck
  • Hi Mike - That's what it's all about ....good health to you! The bonus is meeting new friends, having more energy, sleeping better and fitting in to your favorite jeans just a little nicer. Have faith in yourself and have fun!
  • Ditto, welcome! This site is a lot of fun. I don't always have time to post &/or respond but I always make time to log exercise & food. It's been great. Plus when you have an issue you can get help. Be healthy!
  • - So happy to hear the wonderful outcome for your daughter and you. Hold her dearly. - Good luck on your run. I just signed up for an 8k...very nervous but excited!
  • Hi, I am responding to a post you sent out about Sassy Water. I have heard of it but never tried it. I too watch sodium intake. I was a salt junkie. I make every thing from scratch now, no canned or processed foods. My question: does the Sassy Water help eliminate water or does it clean your bowels, blood, etc.... thanks…
  • Hi & Welcome. You can add me too if you want. I have never worked on a Gazelle so I am no help with that. If you don't get the answer you are looking for look through older posts...a lot of times things have already been discussed ...hope that helps. Believe in yourself!!!!
  • This is nice - I like it! Really, for every aspect of life - thanks!
