There are a few of us left, but we are frequently drowned out by all the "swooshes" fist pumping and yelling "look at me!"

I use a "Blender Bottle" and originally was mixing it with 16oz of milk, but it was a lot of sugar and very thick. Lately I've been mixing it with 16-20oz cold, filtered water and have been drinking 2-4 per day. It tasted a little weird at first, but after a few weeks, I prefer it with water instead of milk.

As several have stated, you are not eating enough. You have to eat back at least some of your exercise calories to keep your machine moving forward, otherwise things can stall out, which is sounds like they have.

Remember: a pint's a pound, the world around.

There is always the risk of something like this if you continue to not get treatment: http://www.buzzle.com/articles/treatment-of-myositis-ossificans.html BTW, this injury essentially ended the career of the Boston Bruin's Cam Neely.

I could not agree more!

Of course the food being heavily processed is not the narrow, simple reason why. Everything is more complex than that, but the heavily processed foods and modern farming techniques, globalization, etc. have led to larger portion sizes, cheap and abundant fatty foods, and 24/7 easy access to all you can eat everything.
-
I agree that the processed foods are the biggest culprit, people used to eat fresh, locally grown foods and cooked everything at home. I'm still working on staying away from as much processed food as possible, but just cutting back a little has already led to noticeable results. I'll never give up the occasional…

A teammate and I wear our HRMs while playing hockey. He is a few years older and about 100 pounds lighter than me and struggles to burn half the calories I do. I burn 1500-1700 per game, he's usually between 600-800. The general consensus on the team, though, is that he's just not hustling.

I love hockey, play hockey, and wholeheartedly support my local minor league teams. However, I hate the NHL, its member clubs, and the NHLPA. In the 20 years I have known hockey existed, those greedy *kitten* have taken 10% of it from me through work stoppages. 10-freakin'-percent. They no longer get any of my time or…

Welcome! I live in Plano and work in Allen. I've found this site to be very helpful, good luck!

For walking, 3.0 mph, MFP's calorie burn is almost exactly as my HRM says (1-5 calorie difference each time). For ice hockey, MFP is always WAAAAY lower than the HRM, to the tune of MFP 1100, HRM 1600.
-
My understanding is HRMs aren't accurate when strength training because they base their calculations on all muscles working and burning extra simultaneously. When you lift, the heart rate goes up, but only a select few muscles are actually burning extra, so the HRM says you are burning more than you really are. I only use…

One of my favorite snacks is cocoa powder dusted almonds - talk about a super-duper food!

I've been using the Sportline Cardio 660 which I bought on amazon for under $60. It comes with a chest strap and wrist watch. I use it mostly while playing ice hockey and doing yoga, and it stays in place throughout. I wanted something simple, didn't need it to track histories and make graphs, and it does a fantastic job…

That's what I always used to do and has lead to where I am today. I try to eat back some of the calories and feel normal the next day, but was curious if there was a certain amount or percentage of the burned calories that I should absolutely eat back so as not to stunt my weight loss.
-
I'm in Plano and am looking for some extra support and motivation. The shame of people seeing me cheat and calling me out on it is just the push I need to kick this thing in gear. Feel free to add me!

I was wondering the same thing about eating back the burned calories from exercise. I understand what everyone has said in that you need to eat them back since there is already a deficit built in between BMR and MFP's recommended calorie limit. My question on top of what's been answered is I can't possibly eat back all the…

If you're worried about hurting yourself from falling, you might want to consider playing ice hockey. You'll be covered in pads, so injury risk is minor. If there is a rink near you, check if they have an instructional league. You can get used gear on the cheap from places like Play It Again Sports or ask around, people…

I am experiencing the same thing, breakfast today used up almost all of my daily sugar goal. I can't see a scenario where I can stay under the daily goal. I do not have blood sugar issues, so I've decided not to sweat it - but not over do it. I'm also trying to take in less processed sugars when ever possible, most notably…
