One of the things I am hoping to achieve with the Bright Line approach is a better diet all around. I find that our schedule often makes us eat just to satisfy hunger and not give us the nutrition we need.
-
I love your spirit ! Don't give up...you have a lot of company on your journey, myself included. We can do this. Maybe the answer is to take it one day at a time.

How about rice cakes and peanut butter? I often have this for a snack between meals.

SW 206 PW 197 GW 167 lost 1.5 lbs. this week, 30 lbs. to go!

I've lost 10 lbs in the first month. I love it. It's a lot easier than anything I've tried before. Also you should know that there is a group post here for Intermittent Fasters or IF.

Hi sweetbug. I've been doing the intermittent fasting too and also 5:2. My goal is to lose a total of 45 lbs.

Hey Lori - Great time to start, before spring & summer. Wishing us both luck

I see what you are pointing out and appreciate your input. Thank you

Hi Kattlee, I am doing it now. Started at the first of the year and only replaced 2 meals per day mostly (except 4 days) and have lost 7 lbs. so far. I'm tracking everything I eat and even if I go over my daily goal it seems to be working for me. I haven't been exercising due to a leg injury but will when that's healed.…
-
so how did this diet work for you? I just started it and am curious.
-
Not sure if I'm in any position to give advice but I, like you, could sure use a buddy in the "fat fight". Menopause seems to have played havoc with my figure and am trying to get it all back under control myself.

Someone suggested drinking 2 8 oz. glasses of cold water 20 minutes before each meal. I have tried this and found it to be helpful. Good luck on your weight loss and thank you so much for your military service.

<good and confused now :embarassed:

I think that 170 calorie burn is from motocross, which is a bit more physically challenging that just street driving a motorcycle.

Thank you so much for posting this when I soooo needed to see it ! It's going on my fridge today.

Could you be eating foods that are heavier in salt content? Like chips, prepackage lunch meats, etc. There is a way to monitor your salt intake here on your daily log. It's listed as sodium. Check and see if yours has been higher in the past few days.

Congratulations on what you've lost thus far. Well done. As to the 2 lb. gain this week, I wonder if it could just be water weight. Our weight fluctuates somewhat from that.
-
Thank you for sharing that story. What a beautiful reminder of what is really important in our journey.

I use Chia seeds, soaked in water, to replace eggs in all of my recipes. I use the ground flax seed meal in every recipe that calls for flour. Not a lot but enough to get some of the health benefits.

I have had a similar experience and wonder if it has to do with my being 67 years old. Metabolism as well as caloric needs may differ for us when we are older. Just a thought.

I guess this is proof that we are all different. It's a lot like stopping smoking I believe. As long as you follow your path and avoid the obvious obstacles you will succeed. But if you relax and give in just once the next time becomes easier, until eventually you are too far along and overwhelmed again. Try to view this…

Count me in. The timing is perfect.

I bake a whole tray of chicken breasts in a large cooking bag with a little water at 350 for about one hour. Then slice them in half length-wise and freeze them individually. When I thaw and heat them to serve I add seasonings that go with what I am serving them with, like barbeque sauce, spaghetti sauce, etc.

So far it's worked for me. One more thing though, nursing mothers really need more calories so it the suggested caloric intake seems high perhaps that is being taken into consideration. Either way, good luck to you
-
Wow! What an inspiration you are! Thanks
-
Wishing you speedy recovery and great results:smile:

Some of the larger grocery store chains offer nutritionists services at a very modest fee which is then given back in gift cards for that store. Might be worth checking to see if any in your area do this. Best of luck to you but think you won't need it because you are so very focused now.

Hi all. I am 66 years old and refuse to stop trying to get my weight to my desired goal. Little by little, step by step. It might take a little longer when we are older but being determined has to help. Bless us all ! At least we're trying.

Hi Uschi, Nice to meet you. I'm in pretty much the same boat. I lost almost 30 lbs then slowly but surely it started creeping back. I've gained back 7 lbs and need to get serious about this myself. Posting each and every calorie and all the exercise you do does really work if you stick with it. It's the sticking with it…

No expert here, believe me, but are you also being aware of the sodium you are consuming? Sodium in excess can lead to water retention. Just a thought
