  • Sorry to jump in late on this, but I was having similar problems. Washing helped, and I also started wiping my skin with a damp cloth before putting the strap on. Especially with the temperature changes and my skin being a bit drier in the fall/winter it seemed to help to have plenty of moisture for a good connection.
  • Everyone is different and the reading from the elliptical won't be as accurate as the HRM, which is in constant contact with your body during the workout to track all the subtle changes that could take place. I would rely on the HRM for accuracy. That, and I'd rather take the lower calorie burn number to avoid accidentally…
  • There's a website p90xcalories.com that comes close to what you're burning, but over-estimates. I use a POLAR FT4 Heart Rate monitor for all my workouts. It was $90 at ****'s Sporting Goods and works great! Hope this helps!

  • I'm pretty much a novice to the whole 'work out' world. I LOVE P90X because of how much I've learned from it, and the workouts are GREAT. You don't have to have prior 'work out knowledge', for lack of a better term. Follow the calendar, watch the the variations and find what works for you. Everything is explained in there.…

  • Some workout plans have a style to get different 'looks'. On P90X, if you do the Classic program, 8-10 reps is for size and 12-15 is for lean/tone. That should do it for you.

  • Thanks for the info. The workout looks like it's crazy fun. I don't know what my deal is with P90X Kempo, but I just don't enjoy anything about it.
  • How much of the TapOut XT workouts are centered around kicks and punches? I know that it's a MMA style workout, but what sort of variety of moves are you doing? I'm curious about the workout but not sure if I'd like it because of the punching and kicking moves. I do a P90X/Insanity Hybrid where I, basically, exchange the…
  • By no stretch of the imagination would I consider myself a fitness expert. I would tend to agree with the people who say not to take a break with what you're doing. I take a 'rest day' from my main workouts every week, but also do a daily 3-4 mile dog walk, 3.5mph, that I don't skip unless it's a weather situation. Having…

  • I bought the Classic Bowflex a few years ago and loved it. Was under $1000, bull body workout, etc. I was using it a ton until I got into P90X. If you haven't done that yet, it would definitely be a better investment because of the weight training workouts.
