I just downloaded it but before I get too excited to try it I was wondering if there was anyone out there who has already? Can you tell me how intense it is? Thanks!

I bought it to do it after insanity and I will tell u it will kick ur butt! It has a lot of plank moves so be prepared to get on the floor a lot! I will say its a cross between P90X and Insanity on steroids. If u give it your all u will start seeing results by the third week. Am not watching the scale anymore so the muscle gain is welcome! Come and get it! TAPOUT XT!

It's an amazing workout program that emphasizes core training more than any other program you've been through. Regardless of whether it's an upper body day, a lower body day, a plyo day, a cardio day, or whatever, you're doing more core work than anything else. I like that the program uses bands in a way where it's not just a ghetto substitute for dumbbells (as in P90X), but rather they take advantage of what bands can do that dumbbells can't.

It's definitely an excellent program that makes a lot of sense. It's very intense but based on what I've seen you'll only be doing high impact work one day a week (Plyo).

Glad to hear the good reviews for this program! I am currently training to run a half-marathon (along with heavy lifting, spin classes, and boot camp for crosstraining!). I want to start TapOut XT next. I'm excited to give it a try :)

I was thinking about trying P90x after I finish Insanity. Maybe I'll do this one instead...

How much of the TapOut XT workouts are centered around kicks and punches? I know that it's a MMA style workout, but what sort of variety of moves are you doing? I'm curious about the workout but not sure if I'd like it because of the punching and kicking moves. I do a P90X/Insanity Hybrid where I, basically, exchange the P90X cardio disks for Insanity. One of the main reason is that I HATE the Kempo workout because I don't like the shadow boxing. It's just not my thing.

Based on that, would I struggle to maintain interest in TapOut?

If you have some sort of personal issue with doing a workout centered around simulated fight moves, you definitely won't like it. The day 1 workout basically revolved around a lot of plank work as well as simulated punches with a resistance band, kicks, and floor takedowns for core work.

Thanks for the info. The workout looks like it's crazy fun. I don't know what my deal is with P90X Kempo, but I just don't enjoy anything about it.
