  • Did you stay away?? I have the same problem at my office. We have vendors who bring us everything from bagels to donuts to Chik-Fil-A breakfast sandwiches, Taco Cabana... It kills me. I stay away from that side of the office and pray that all the guys in the office will polish them off before I ever see them.
  • I'm still working on it!

  • AAARGH! 168. I didn't go carb-crazy last night, but I did forget to take my Metformin...
  • Depends on my numbers. If my numbers are bad (like they were in October), then every 3 months. If my numbers are good after two 3-month checkups, she waits a year.
  • I just now saw this discussion, and wanted to respond. Have you tried changing the timing of when you take the Metformin ER? It sounds weird, but my D-episodes are dependent on exactly when I take my Metformin ER. If I take it literally while I am in the middle of eating a meal or right before I eat (within minutes), I am…
  • 127. Not where I want it to be, but good enough considering it was 478 on 10/28. Doc said she'd give me until January 28 to get it down on my own, otherwise - INSULIN. Yikes.

  • I weighed myself yesterday (Sunday) evening, so I'll just use that weight. I am at 191.3. (is this where I post it?)

  • Yeah, once a week for me, too. I've heard experts say "Stay away from the scale and judge your weight loss on how you feel and how your clothes fit" and also "Weigh yourself daily to see what your weight loss patterns are". I stick with once a week.
  • I walk and jump rope (um, TRY to jump rope). Every year, I do great until the holidays roll around. Then everything flies out the window. So now I'm joining groups through December to help me keep on track! I am at work, but as soon as I get home, I'll weigh myself and post my answers.
  • I was diagnosed with an A1C of 11.5 in May 2014 and got it down to 7.5% in August. I'm on Metformin 500 mg, 1 pill twice a day. I jumped on MFP and simply started tracking everything I ate, and started paying attention to ingredients RELIGIOUSLY. I also started exercising - I walk 1 mile every morning and one mile every…
  • I have known my whole life that T2 was in my genes, but simply ignored it. Even when I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes during both my pregnancies, I ignored it. Then in 2013, I started losing weight - a lot - without trying, my hair started falling out, I was hitting the bathroom 20 times a day (and night!),…
  • Wow, I'm like so many others on here - I want to look good in pictures!! I went on vacation 2 years ago (I was at my heaviest) and saw a picture of a fat woman in a bathing suit and towel-wrap among a bunch of people. I said, "Who is THAT?" To my horror, I was told it was ME. After I got over the depression that set in and…
  • I am a single mom, and my biggest problem was that I would get so worn out after working all day, chauffering kids to school and sports, running running running - I would just go through a drive-thru for dinner. I felt terrible because I knew my kids were eating horribly, and my own health was starting to suffer (high…
  • Where food is concerned, I'll "save up calories" during the week. With alcohol, my drink of choice is a margarita or a beer. I've switched to rum & diet cokes. Fewer calories & carbs, and I don't drink as many. See if there's a drink you might like that fits that bill. Check online before you indulge!
  • I'm right there with you! I was on here a year ago and then fell off the wagon. I recently got back on, and hope to be in supermodel shape (HA! Shoot for the stars, right?) by summer 2015. I think my expectations were too high before, my results were coming too slowly, and I lost motivation. I'm following the "slow &…
