if synthroid does not work try finding a doctor to give you Armour. I could not handle synthroid.

Review on line menus before you leave on vacation. Those chains usually have some great low calorie meal plans. Also, plan, plan for a treat, just don 't over do it. Stop at one cookie, one scoop of ice cream. And add the moving, walking, exercise when ever you can. We went on a cruise with our daughters a few years back.…

You bet. I still get to enjoy lots of foods, in moderation of course. It also depends how much you have to lose. If you do not have lots of weight to take off you may starve if you set it over one pound per weekly. I am a thyroid sufferer with slow metabolism so any loss is a good thing.Slow and steady. Good Luck!

So few doctors understand or empathize with us thyroid sufferers. My first endo thought it was all in my head! Luckily, or I should say unluckily I have some other family members suffering too. One of them pointed me to a great doctor. She put me on Armour. Yes, it has been trial and error as to dosage. It helps if I limit…

Can you call him by chance? I would not go off the meds unless I talked to him. Have you researched thyroid condition? Read everything you can. I am on natural vs synthetic. Trial and error for most as it is whatever you feel optimal on. Good luck!

What test did they run? What was your results compared to the range used by the lab? Normal may not be your optimal. Definitely get copies of all labs. Keep searching for answers and another dr if this one does not listen. I have been where you are. So sorry you are going through this.

I am 56, turning 57 this summer. Trying to get back to a healthier me, with a few less pounds. I struggle with low metabolism because of thyroid issue. Every ounce is a struggle to take off but oh so easy to put on. Also struggle with those joint pains so I hear you ladies! My advice for us would be strength training,…

Be consistent......same scale, weigh same day of the week, same time of the day. I weigh every Friday around 6 am.
-
I am also on Armour. Had some tweaking. I take 60 mg in the morning and 15 mg at night. I really watch that I wait about an hour to eat or drink coffee. I take my vitamins at noon to help absorption. My doctor stresses the strength training. I too was having trouble with the scale not moving. MFP and the above has finally…

You look great!

IMO it will take another 6 weeks to truly see improvement when changing meds. You will most likely need adjustments along the way. I feel so much better on Armour. The synthetics were terrible for me. Others have no problem. Just know it is so hard to find a doctor to prescribe Armour. Give it time.....you can always go…

Yes, you are doing it girl!

I would suggest smaller goals. I set my goal at 5 lbs at a time, see how I felt, made sure I was not starving myself, let myself have a treat day. Then reset based upon the outcome. I lost slowly but didn't want to burn out. Back again to take off a few lbs I gained last year.

I hear you, we are left with such low or no metabolism. My thyroid Dr said to push the weights and core strength to ramp things up. Good luck!
