  • feel free to add me, I'm always looking for more friends that are interested in eating healthy.
  • 57 yrs old! But I feel so much younger, lol. I love MFP. It has really motivated me to keep track of what I am eating. I am always looking for more mfp friends who like to focus on eating healthy food, losing weight or just maintaining a healthy weight.
  • I have actually found a new love for my exercise bike. Once I realized how many calories I can burn while watching television or a movie, I'm all over it. And I really like to eat, so by burning calories I can eat more! Lol. I went out of town for a couple weeks and really missed it. I've come full circle.
  • I love those crunchy rice rolls. They actually have them at my local Dollar Tree. I also recently discovered Skinnygirl Poppyseed salad dressing. It's not a whole food, but it is vegan and very low in calories (10 cal for 2 T) It is delicious. Kraft Creamy Italian is also vegan, but high in calories.
  • I've been vegan over 4 years. HCLF. I lost some weight pretty quickly however it stalled for years. I now have the scale going the right direction again thanks to portion control, calorie tracking, and exercise. I love myfitnesspal. High carb low fat is the way to go for health, but don't believe all the people saying you…
  • Vegan here, always looking for more friends... :) I started off heavier than you, finally working my way down thanks to calorie counting, portion control and getting my butt on my exercise bike, 12 lbs left to get to my goal weight.
  • Join some vegan facebook groups for support and recipes. Some of the plant based doctors I like to follow are Dr. Joel Fuhrman (Eat to Live is a great book), Dr. John McDougall (the Starch Solution), and The Forks over Knives Plan is a great book, not sure who wrote that one. Pinterest is a plethora of information. Dr.…
  • Well, it's not a snickers bar, but I actually like them. I'm on my second box.
  • um not sure... I would prefer 2 lbs a week of course.
  • Thanks everyone, it's nice to have such support. Yes, I think I will go ahead and enjoy my cherry banana smoothie this morning and start my day off right. I'm on 1200 calories per day suggested from the mfp calculations. Most days I am fine with that, I have been combining it with IF 16:8. I think I need to take a couple…
  • hahaha, nope those days are over for me thank goodness.
  • Lately I find keeping it simple is the easiest to calorie count. Although I love cooking, I like not spending hours in the kitchen all the time. My latest thing is wraps. I get the Ole flour tortilla which is only 50 calories, you could also use corn tortillas, and fill them with black beans, corn, avocado, and salsa. I…
  • A really good one I have found is Pegan Bars, particularly the chocolate lava flavor. They are high protein, low carb, and really pretty darn good.
  • I've been plant based for 4 years and love it. I just started counting calories in an effort to get that last 20 pounds off. I must be a little off, because I'm finding counting calories kind of fun. lol. Feel free to add me as a friend if you like!
  • Feel free to add me, I like friends too!
  • It's amazing how many calories are in some of my favorite foods, why did I never look at that? And I wondered why my weight loss had come to a standstill... duh!
  • I can always use more vegan and plant based friends. There aren't that many of us in this world. The girl bagging my groceries last week started commenting on my purchases, and I said, "are you vegetarian?", she said "Vegan actually". I could have hugged her.
  • I have been eating a vegan diet for 4 years, best decision ever. I feel better physically than I ever have. So many great recipes out there, you can pretty much veganize any recipe. Congrats on your new vegan journey, you will love it.
  • I love eating a vegan diet and have been doing so for 4 years. I dropped 15-20 pounds right away, now I'm working on the last 20 by calorie counting. I love to cook which makes it difficult as I am always experimenting in the kitchen. A few documentaries I enjoyed were What the Health?, Plant Pure Nation, Forks over…
  • I like to do the 16:8 fast a couple times a week. It's really just a matter of skipping breakfast and not eating after 8pm the night before. I think it's good to let your stomach growl once in a while, lol.
  • I'm having Artichoke Salad for dinner tonight with a side of homemade seitan turkey. http://cookingwithmaryplantbased.weebly.com/seitan-smoked-turkey-log.html http://cookingwithmaryplantbased.weebly.com/artichoke-salad.html
  • I used to throw an entire can of beans on my salad for lunch, then realized this week how many calories that really is. I should be using about a third of the can. I'm used to checking for hidden meats and dairy, fat content, and carbs, but haven't worried much about calories.
  • Hello, Gosh... well I'm 51 with 30 lbs to lose... Hoping this forum helps keep me movitated. Just started diet today, and sick of being fat!
