Completely agree. Ann Taylor is totally warped. So is Nine West. I am 165 lbs and Ann Taylor thinks I am a size 12/large. Ten years ago when I was this exact same weight, I was a 14/16 and an extra large. Does this make me feel better? Nope, it makes me feel like Ann Taylor considers me a stupid sucker.

I don't talk about it. Now as I am 50 pounds down, people can see the difference. When they ask, I usually just shrug it off because I don't want to be judged on what I'm doing. People ALWAYS judge - whether self-satisfied smugness by forever thin people, sabotage by those who define their own image by your fatness, or…

I like Scooby's rotisserie core workout: http://scoobysworkshop.com/2012/07/01/rotisserie-functional-core-abs-workout/ I see you are a gamer. I had a weak core from too much game/computer time in chairs with poor lumbar support and think this workout has helped. If you game socially, it can be done on the living room floor…

I like Enlightened bars. they are less sweet than regular ice cream but nice and creamy tasting. http://www.eatenlightened.com Frozen bananas taste a sort of like ice cream. (peel before you freeze) As a lower calorie alternative to sorbet, try frozen melon cubes or grapes. A bit of real ice cream is not bad, as long as…

Most of the Fage flavors have a couple grams less of sugar then the Chobani flavors. i usually prefer Fage except when the other brand are on sale. It's not a huge difference but every bit counts. I also frequently buy Fage plain and add my own honey. Fage plain with 2/3 tbsp honey = 12 grams of sugar. That compared to 19…

A study was actually done on this question: " Based on currently available evidence, we propose the following preliminary indices be used to classify pedometer-determined physical activity in healthy adults: (i). <5000 steps/day may be used as a 'sedentary lifestyle index'; (ii). 5000-7499 steps/day is typical of daily…

I believe sedentary is for people with desk jobs. I think you sound lightly active.

learn the correct definition of "wasteful" wasteful is not - leaving food on your plate in a restaurant because you've had enough - throwing away food leftover from a party because it doesn't fit your nutrition plan - discarding the last of the brown lettuce and getting a nice fresh one because you know you'll feel like…

I have the same issues! I faint from sudden blood pressure drop if I move too quickly from horizontal to vertical position. I have to craft my workout routines around it. (No Turkish getups or burpees allowed for me.) My doctor also recommended increasing my sodium. I'm not a big salt fan and my sodium intake falls low if…

Is it right before your TOM? Many women (me included) get intense feelings of hunger the week before their period. From what I've read, women do burn some extra calories during this time (couple hundred extra max). If that is the case, it might be okay to eat a bit more during this week.

"The Working Stiff Cookbook" might fit your bill. I was given this as a gift a couple years ago when I was working 70-80 hour work weeks and complaining that I never got to cook anymore. The recipes are fast to make and most have a pretty simple list of ingredients.…

I just want to comment that Moving Comfort, Champion and other bras designed for average sized gals but sized up for larger gals usually only go up to size DD. This is because their design (stretchy fabric) is based on squashing boobs to your chest rather than preventing movement through bra structure. Thw average size…

This is my favorite sports bra ever for boobalicious women: http://www.barenecessities.com/freya-maximum-control-underwire-sports-bra-aa4492_product.htm?pf_id=FreyaAA4492 The reason it works so well is underwire plus minimal stretch in the material. It does make boobs a little pointy but I wear a second layer of either a…

that would be wonderful. I hope it's not too much work - just some brief thoughts would be nice. i'm a stats junkie too so I'm looking forward to seeing your opinion.

Hey Massive Delta - Since you've consistently used quite a few, can you provide a bit more compare and contrast? Most folks just promote the one they are using but have less experience with the others to compare. I'd be interested to hear some thing like "this app is best for this, but it sucks at this" for the four you've…

I've tried dozens of bathing suits with bras/wires built in and they never offer enough support for me. I'm a 34G. Right now, I wear a black & silver underwire sports bra and coordinated swim bottoms (purchased separately). I also have a coordinated (but also purchased spearately) tank top that I sometimes wear over the…

Don't feel bad about throwing away the Easter candy. Chuck it! Not "wasting" bad foods is an emotional mental block you want to get past. If it has no nutritional value then you are not actually wasting anything by not consuming it. Think of holiday candy like a bouquet of flowers. Somebody enjoyed giving it to you. You…

Set of cocktail size spoons and cocktail bowls. They slow down my eating and made me put smaller bites of food in my mouth. The smaller spoon and smaller bowl create an optical illusion making me feel like I'm getting a larger portion. Absolutely essential for any type of treat like ice cream and cereal.

I've used coconut flour before. It gives a distinct sweet coconut flavor to the dish so it doesn't work well in savory dishes. I usually replace about 1/4 to 1/3 of the flour in any recipe with soy flour. My primary reason for doing that is to increase the protein content and decrease the carb content of the food.…

I was using measuring cups/spoons for a year and got a scale about a month ago. I found that I was overestimating tablespoons - when I measure out a tablespoon of honey/peanut butter/olive oil, I'm really only getting about 2/3 to 3/4 because I was being overly careful not to overfill and also because of the amount left on…

I think you need to lower your net calorie goal. My TDEE is also around 1750-1800 not counting for exercise. I know this from logging and calculating actual results. On Scooby's site, he recommends doing this to calibrate a better TDEE estimate. The online calculators would have suggested 1900-2100 for me. I have a…

I've totally noticed this too! My tummy used to stick up out of the top of the bath water and now I can totally submerge. I'm only about 2/3 of the way to goal (50lbs so far) but I find myself most surprised by the difference in people interactions: - As a very large woman, I used to get lots of attention from men (cat…

Not all fat free half and halfs are made the same. In my area (NYC), Land o Lakes brand is made with corn syrup and other stuff but Farmland Dairies brand is just non-fat milk thickened up with additional non-fat milk solids. They taste very different. Before you write off fat free half and half completely, you might go to…

But wouldn't it be cool if it was? Could the magic wand be purple with lavender sparkles on it? 'cause I love purple.

You've already adjusted down as far as you can with your diet. You need to burn more calories. I suggest increasing your workouts. To burn another half pound, you need to exercise away another 1750 calories without eating them back. I would increase % protein while you do this to encourage your body to hang onto muscle and…

I discovered Soft Cups last year too. Like the first time you try tampons, you gotta learn how to use them. But now, I can't imagine ever going back to tampons. Unlike the diva or moon cup, the Softcup has no weird stick-thingy. No more tampons in my purse. No more worrying about string rubbing or wet string. No more…
