o.o I just checked, that's 50 quest bars and over 9000 calories. If I ever did that I'd actually try and enjoy that and watch a film or something :/

It may just be that 1400 calories might be too low for you. As stated above, I would also eat my own desk if I had to eat 1400 calories a day and I am sedentary with half the week spent studying (literally sitting at a desk for 12+ hours) and even then I would eat at least 1600. If you're hungry, eat something. If you know…

Bodyfat measuring scales are generally accurate +/-5% from my experience. I got mine for about £20 on Amazon and I get different weight, BMI, water and bodyfat readings everyday. According to my check ins I weighed 144.4lbs on 18 November and 150.2lbs a few days ago. Bunch of bull in terms of consistency but weight will…

Do you have a confidant or someone you can talk to about your problems (that isn't your psychologist)? I'm just looking at my research notes because social support is such a major factor for mental health. If there is recent life stress (several in your case) and there is a confidant, there risk for depression is still low…

If you find yourself feeling ugly now then you should talk to a doctor or counsellor because it is a warning sign of several mood problems that could lead to major problems that effect your family and career. Just for informational purposes: Depression is short for major depressive disorder (MDE). It is defined using a…

It's likely water retention, not body fat increase. Chill holmes!

Hey, the NHS as very reliable and scientific information that's useful: http://www.nhs.uk/Conditions/pregnancy-and-baby/Pages/food-allergies-in-children.aspx http://www.nhs.uk/Conditions/pregnancy-and-baby/Pages/vegetarian-vegan-children.aspx HIPP also have a good range of baby foods that my workplace sells to parents.…

I ate 5000+ calories yesterday because my birthday is in April. Relax. A bit of cake isn't going to make you fat. You need to be consistent over weeks and months and years in your diet and training program, not over a few extra grams of fat or calories. Oh, and Happy Birthday.

This, absolutely.

Books like that lead people the wrong way. I think the whole post-modernism about marketing from fast food chains and supermarket "tricks of the trade" has been blown way out of proportion. It's up to you whether you are responsible enough to ignore something in a supermarket aisle or whether you buy it and blame clever…

Go to a doctor and have them refer you to a physio. Get your ankles, shins and knees checkout for injury or sprains. Find out whether you are flat footed and need an orthaheel arch. Check whether you have a leg length discrepancy. And look for yourself. I've got very skinny ankles, so there isn't much fat around the…

Well done for posting it :)

OP, remember that you can't fall in love with something or someone if it isn't working. If you've been lifting for 8 months and had no results, then you are doing something wrong, and that's why you haven't fallen in love with it. Just like a relationship fails when 1 side is the problem or when both sides are the problem.…

I first learnt about refeeds from these articles but I'm not sure how accurate they are, especially the sciencey bits and bobs. Both are by great trainers but I'm not sure if their info on this applies to natural folk. http://nickmitchellblog.com/cheating-refeeds-fat-loss/ and…

That's pretty insightful actually. I posted a similar topic about body types in sport but no one was interested in it! I find it quite remarkable that he can run so fast with that body. It's really cool actually. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/1143241-the-extremely-wide-variety-of-body-types-among

At his age I wouldn't be against taking him to a very good CrossFit gym if you can afford it in order to get him accustomed to doing compound exercises with the barbell. Local gyms normally suck unless they have great trainers and equipment and personally I would love to have gone to a crossFit gym at 13!

The 1200 calorie setting is generally not recommended unless you are 4 foot tall. What you should need to do is set your calorie goal to maintenance your weight, then eat below that if you want to lose weight or follow the guides below:…

I sucks yeah but it's like peanut butter or other nuts etc if you're dieting it's a lot of calories for a small portion size. Getting the balance is hard.

It is much more accurate to focus on the range of ideal weight, rather than an ideal weight on its own. http://www.nhs.uk/Livewell/healthy-living/Pages/height-weight-chart.aspx

Armband, get a good brand like Belkin because the cheap ones break or the velco strap wears off within a few weeks.
