1) To beat the former fat boy out of me. 2) To give me confidence 3) To take that hour in the morning for "me" time 4) Vanity (related to 2)

Looking for some friends and motivators too. Hit me up.

Goals this month: I turn 30, and I want to be in the best shape of my life.

I'm 28- is that pushing it? Add me!

Yesterday was an awesome day! Hopefully this momentum keeps up!

When I saw this topic- I could only think of this video: http://www.nbc.com/saturday-night-live/video/taste-test/1359559/

I've been struggling with this too.. thanks for asking.

Jason, the Red Ranger from the Power Rangers (who later on killed someone, right?) and Dean Cain from Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman. Yum!

Having this with my fish tonight!

Hey everyone- 1. Where were you born? Binghamton, New York 2. Where do you live at the moment? Buffalo, New York. 3. Where else have you lived? Just those two places 4. What is your current occupation? What is your dream occupation? I work for a construction company, but I'd love to work with kids or outdoors. I've thought…

I second all the advice here- weight training is always good to add in. It'll make your whole body stronger so you can do more cardio which will help you lose more weight.

I use JEFIT for my lifting routines. It works really well.

I've tried so many apps before, and I think the only thing that's keeping me at MFP is the social aspect of it. I love the communication that goes on here because everyone's typically focused on one thing- health.

First of all, I love the graphs. In my professional life, I'm a very data and visual oriented person. I make those kinds of charts all the time, but I have a reservation about this for weight loss. Isn't it harder to shed the pounds the more weight you lose? and does that take in muscle gain? I just wouldn't want to get…

I am hooked on Body pump- it's an amazing work out!

I would love to know what a Twiglest is......

Means I'll probably have to shave my legs, right?

Halloween's one of my favorite days because it gives me a chance to break out of my introverted shell. I wish I was as outgoing as I am on this holiday all the time. I think this is a great idea to help me prep for having a crazy/ revealing costume!

Need to figure out how'd I'll keep the wings on my ankles!

Batgirl, sadly is straight. And Air- I'm a Marvel Guy, but I started getting into DC with the relaunch. Sadly, I haven't been able to dig Batwoman, and I really wanted to! The art is AMAZING, but the story hasn't done it for me...

Wow Spire, that's pretty powerful. Is it fair to say that you purposely made yourself "frumpy" to not deal with your sexuality? That's the opposite of what a lot of other responses were. And that's a great story as well- family's important. A lot of the LGBTQ community has had negative experiences with family- I wonder if…

Interesting concept too- Tighter fitting clothes are in style for men... definitely one piece of this motivation is to look good in the clothes you wear.

That's an amazing study treetop- thanks for sharing! I wonder if that correlates to something with men and being more visual than women...

Hey everyone- thanks for the advice. My major issue is that I'm concerned that I won't grow muscle. I do a lot of cardio- I really enjoy spinning, running and hiking. I don't want to burn away the progress I make with building muscle. Does that even make sense?

It's funny because in high school or college I never experience the peer pressure I do now to drink from my friends! I remember all the PSAs on drinking tailored to youths- they need to make them for adults!
-
Agreed! Nothing worse than seeing a cart of soda and processed foods!

I just think it's interesting that people don't stop and think about why you're passing up on fast food. You'd hope that they'd realize you're trying to make a healthy choice, and maybe they should do the same! Sometimes I have felt like I'm looked at as being strange because I try to be healthy.... I just don't think…

You bring up two awesome points. No one wants to be unhealthy. That just doesn't make sense. There might just be cultural things that push certain groups into being/becoming healthy. And that tug of vanity is true... As I see myself getting more fit, I've done little things like run shirtless down busy streets or buy more…

Well, part of the negative reaction I've witnessed comes from people who might look at a person who has lost weight as competition. Spreading rumors of drug use or AIDS is a quick way to knock that person out of the playing field. And yes- the most disappointing thing I've witness came from friends of mine that need a…

That's great Doug! Keep it up! I agree with you- I've been in a monogamous relationship for a year and half now, and I think I'm the healthiest I've ever been because I have a partner who also motivates me and supports me with compliments and positive reinforcement. I think it's been a huge help in my life and I am very…
