My hubby got smart; he asks now before he throws them away!!

I actually eat very normal food. I like veggies, but am the only one in the house that will eat them, therefore, don't buy them often. You are more than welcome to add me. My diary is full of "non-diet items".

Exactly! Hubby has even started helping me weigh food!

The Polar FT4 is very easy to use!

The FitBit is a glorified pedometer! It tracks steps in any exercise. So during HIT workouts it will only track jumps/steps. In order to capture anything that is not step related, invest in an Heart Rate Monitor. I wear the FitBit all day, everyday & add my HRM when I do other "non-step" related workouts such as Insanity…

I have been using TDEE since the beginning (150+ days ago). I have lost 19 pounds; 2 shirt sizes (XL to M); 2 pants sizes (14-10). The difference in my overall body is HUGE!! I actually tuck shirts in now!! I calculate by using http://calorieline.com/tools/tdee

I have a FitBit for all my "stepping" throughout the day & any exercise that involves steps & have a Polar FT4 for all exercises that don't involve steps. Total investment $160.
-
I also have a Polar FT4 and love it. Also got mine on Amazon (is there really anywhere else to shop!) for about $60.00.

More than happy to have new friends. I'm about an hour north of Green Bay.

Aldi also carries a brand called Fit & Active. I haven't had much that I didn't like. It is all low calorie & healthy foods. It is about all I buy these days.

I don't know how many times I have said no to something because I didn't want to log it! I log everything I consume. I figure I am only cheating myself if I don't. I don't care if others see what I eat, I care what I see I eat ;-)

I want to post my puppies but have no idea how to get a picture in here???

When I do exercises that are more than just steps (walking, etc) I always use what my HRM says.

I don't quite have my own cupboard, but I do have my own self & the hubby & kid know to stay off of it!!

I have the Kindle Touch & love it. If I am not reading it, you will find it in my purse. I take it EVERYWHERE with me. I got this one as I love to read outdoors. I can read in the direct sunlight with no problem at all!! I do still buy books (sometimes) but have found that I don't miss holding the book as much as I thought…

I have changed my eating habits by choosing lower calorie optioins; however, I REFUSE to give up my Pepsi & I am not talking about diet! I have chosen to limit the amount I have now, but I have my 24 oz bottle at work each day (sometimes more than a can or 2 more depending on the day) and then I drink water the rest of the…

This exactly!

Congrats & happy birthday! Be very proud of your accomplishments and keep going!

Not sure that I have the hots for old guys, but my husband is 14 years older than I am. He will turn 52 in October.

Salt! I can also pass on most sweets, except for brownies! But I crave salt.....I am like a deer at a salt lick!

First of all congratulations on all of your professional accomplishments!! You have a very lucky & prosperous career! Second of all congrats on your lifestyle change. Everyone one of us had made a conscious decision to join MFP for OURSELVES; not for others. I keep my diary open for the same reasons you began with yours…

Hubby got so sick of me asking "how much is this? how big is this?" and bought me a digital food scale from Amazon. I measure everything now! He's much happier now that I am not bugging him!!!
-
I agree with above. Find the time that is best for you! I do things right after work, as said above, I sit & I am done! Hubby has adjusted to the schedule of not counting on me for at least an hour after work. We have fallen into a routine. Just find your groove!
-
You did the perfect thing! You stood your ground! Confidence is the one thing we are all looking for in our journeys & I would say you have hit your stride!! Congrats! Don't ever let that feeling go away!

I saw results in the first week.

I go to a group Insanity "class" 2x per week. The instructor has my mom & I do a modified version of everything. Each time we do a bit more. I have absolutely no qualms about not being in rhythm with everyone else. I can only do what I can do & have found that each time I can do more than I did last time! Go at your own…

Have at it! Can't say that my choices are the best; I believe in eating what I want in moderation! Anyone can have at it!
-
I think it is so awesome that you turned this into a double positive for your health and for a great cause. I wish you luck! Keep stepping!

I don't really think I know enough to give you advice, but I do want to say that remember that muscle weighs more than fat. Sometimes we have to take the inches as the milestone instead of the number on the scale. Everything you mentioned sounds like you are doing it all the right way. I also have been a bit steady on the…
