Lifting weights does not make you gain weight. It takes an average woman who trains well a full year to add ten pounds of muscle. Lifting weights increases muscle mass and increased muscle mass raises your metabolism which in turn burns more fat. Lift weights and watch that weight come off.

Wrap them in parchment and cook on the grill with a sprig or rosemary, oregano, and lemon balm. The vacuum stuff is rather nasty but better than nothing. Buy fresh if you can.

Your weight is 69 kg? If so, that's 152 pounds but if your mind is so distressed over this, professional help is something you should seek out. Best to you.

They can look at me all they want. I never notice if they do or not. Focus on your own stuff. Forget the rest. It's all noise.

It was fine until it got to the part of him showing off his girlfriend.... You've been promoted to Potential Trophy. Ditch him!

Hal Higdon has a great program for the half.

Why tell him you're losing weight? Why do you need his approval? Am I missing something here?

Floss. Floss. Floss. And brush your tongue, the roof of your mouth, under your tongue, your cheeks. I use a metal tooth pick (in the dental section of your drugstore) to remove tartar but if you're not sure how to do that yourself, have a hygienist teach you. Start with this first as it's the easiest remedy and if it…

So he has no right to bake food, or have food that he likes, in the house just because his wife is on a diet? I ignore all the stupid stuff my husband does. It's why we're still married.

Sometimes people just need to call us on our BS. Get over it. If your kids are alive and healthy, you've got all your limbs and all your faculties, life is good.

I'm in the same boat. I've had my Polar for ten years, still works, and thinking of making the change. I'll be interested in reading what other Polar users have to say about the benefits.

Real estate broker. Own my own business. Work from home. Flexibility up the wazoo allows me to travel wherever, whenever. What more can I ask for?

I eat before I work out. I get water with two eggs on the stove, get the water boiling, turn the stove off immediately and let the eggs "cook" for 15 minutes. During those 15 minutes, my doggies have eaten, gone out to do their business, and I toss the gym bag into the car. Eat, and off I go. After my workout, I get home,…

Menopause is the cruelest joke anyone has ever played on women. I've gained fifty pounds over the last ten years, with thirty coming on in the last five. (I'm 55.) Add a family death to the mix and it's hard to know what really caused the weight gain. Until I realize that the whole 50-pound fat pack came on because I ate…

It sounds like you're getting ready to compete? It's normal. It would happen to me just as it happens to you. Once I got back in and sweat like crazy, everything went back to normal. If you're competing, don't worry about it. If you're NOT competing, stop weighing in daily.

Use the zig-zag approach. It works wonders. One day you're below your goal, next day you're above it. Everything averages out over a one-week period and you're not white-knuckling through the process. Google it if you're nervous about it, but believe me..... it is very, very effective!
