Monday weigh-in PW: 188.4/Size 12 CW: 188/Size 12 GW: Size 4 Busy in the garden thus the radio silence. Have a great week, folks.

@TeresaW2024 My dear Teresa, I ache for you. The falls are the worst part second only to getting them back up. Mami weighed only 120 pounds so that was manageable but an adult man would be impossible for me. And when they fall, they're dead weight so it's all on you. I'm glad you got the equipment you need to help you with…

@DNjoys @Ceriusly1 I found Dee and added her as a friend and I think I'm all set now. Disregard anything else I may have posted and thank you both for helping me find my way. Much appreciated.
-
@Ceriusly1 I do remember receiving and accepting your friend request. DNJoys has a private profile and I can't seem to ask to friend her. I'll try what she suggested. When I go back to the original thread, this is what I get: Discussion Not FoundThe page you were looking for could not be found.

@DNjoys I received the invite and accepted but I have no friend requests from you or anyone at this time.

@Ceriusly1 One more question - are the invites coming into our DMs on MFP? Or are we tagged on the forum? I just need to know what to look for and where. Thanks!

Monday weigh-in PW: 186.9/Size 14 CW: 188.4/Size 12 GW: Size 4 I messed up my weigh-in this morning - did my cardio workout before stepping on the scale. Thirty minutes on the stair climber translates to high volume of blood being pumped to the quads which gives an inaccurate reading. "Weigh first thing in the morning" is…

@Ceriusly1 Thank you for clarifying. I'm looking forward to participating and meeting and learning from others.

May I ask, on Item 4, does a "missed previous challenge" refer to the weekly prep tasks we've been getting? One was clean the house, another was colored foods, I believe, etc. I didn't do any of those. Am I already out?
-
@Cornanda I agree. MFP can mess up quirky things sometimes but I go down the list of ingredients and select the brand and confirm the amounts. They had a tablespoon of olive oil as a gallon. That does make a difference. @Katmary71 I'm in Zone 7a so still have to wait on cukes and melons but my greens are in. Started my…

AnAbsoluteDiva PW: 188/Size 14 CW: 187.9/Size 14 GW: Size 4 @Katmary71 The link to the latest Fat 2 Fit announcements is broken. I hope I'm not missing anything critical. We're going into a new month soon and I still want to participate so MFP, please clean this up. The link always worked before. On another note, my…

@DrewsAnna I'd skip the border. I think it's beautiful as it is…. simple design, great color contrast. Let the stitchery be the focus. And I love that it's a maple leaf! Elbows up!

@DrewsAnna It IS a great song! @TeresaW2024 Try zigzagging your calories. It's what I do. I'm at 1200 calories a day but one day I'll hit 1400 and the next day I'm at 1000 - you get the point. Over a 14-day period, you'll have seven days over your goal and seven days under your goal. It allows you to enjoy your life…

@DrewsAnna You have no idea how happy I was to read your recent post this morning. I suspect that time out in the ball field allowed some of those marvelous sun rays to boost your Vitamin D levels. And yes…. when it's rainy and gloomy, make your own sunshine! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iPUmE-tne5U

@Cornanda Thanks! I'll let you know if I get confused with the 5%. @bobboyardee Treat the nighttime as your morning and your morning as your nighttime. This idea that we can't eat past a certain hour makes no sense to me. If your body is fasted for ten hours or whatever, it doesn't know if it's daytime or not. If it makes…

@sleepygirl79 Walk into your doctor's office buck naked and at 6 AM and the scale will tell the truth. It'll also teach him a lesson or two. ;-)

ICE BREAKER QUESTION: What do you want to buy? I would love to buy the Freak Athlete Hyper Pro machine. I have the room for it but I need to be sure that I can't do everything it offers on the equipment I already have.

I need clarification, folks. I signed up for a 5% thingamajig (can't remember the name…. no disrespect intended) and that group has a spring cleaning challenge. I saw the same challenge on this thread. Which thread do I respond to? Is this group I'm in now a subgroup of 5%? I'd like to accept the challenge but do I have to…

@Katmary71 Water retention is a nasty little thing. One gallon of water weighs eight pounds. Consuming more salt than you need will make your body retain close to two quarts of fluid (four pounds). A night of heavy drinking will retain up to a full gallon. Your finger were telling the story and I'm with you…. my brain goes…

@DrewsAnna If you use sunscreen, it blocks Vitamin D. If you wear long sleeves or hats outdoors, it blocks Vitamin D. Google symptoms of Vitamin D deficiency and see if you're hitting a lot of those. And, please, if you can, get the test. It's just part of your normal bloodwork; doctor will just instruct lab to test for…

@DrewsAnna I've been following you on this forum and I can relate. I went through this a few years ago. I thought it was because life got so hectic and I mentioned it to my doctor. I was unmotivated. My family thought I was lazy or depressed or both. Some days it took everything I had to just get out of bed and unload the…

Now that I weigh myself daily, it's so clear to me where the pitfalls are. I had three events this week that involved food and cocktails. I knew where they were being held ahead of time and I had a pretty good idea of what food would be served. At two events, I was able to manage by sticking with the meat and seafood hors…

What’s a past fitness or health goal you achieved that you’re most proud of? I finished 27 marathons in 27 states; 23 to go but doubt I'll do it. Turned to bodybuilding and prefer that 100% over running.

@vegan4lyfe2012 I now understand why people rave about instant pots. I had no idea what it is. I am so old school - still soak my beans overnight - but the clean tea towel to absorb the steam is something my mom and my grandma and her grandma have done. It's a big thing in the Caribbean and it leaves that rice so insanely…
-
@vegan4lyfe2012 Thanks for the info. I don't have an instant pot (don't even know what that is) and we use the "clean tea towel over the pot with a tight lid and don't you dare touch it" method to absorb that steam. I also rinse brown rice (all rice except arborio) cuz that starchy stuff can really gum up the works. I'll…
