  • For once I can say awesome gain! Congrats!!
  • I love yoga as well. Not all yoga are equal in calorie burn some are more relaxed and focus on core and meditation which helps with just about every aspect of life but on its own may not burn enough calories. I do Bikram yoga and I can burn upto 1,000 calories in 90 mins and have lost weight and inches doing it regularly.…

  • NO don't do it! I was "mostly" vegetarian for 3 years, generally only ate fish out side of veggies and it caused my iron levels to go supper low and by end of last year I could barely function. It has taken me 6 months to get back on track but I bet I wasn't functioning at full capacity for at least a year out of the the…
  • Frozen grapes are a very low maintenance frozen treat. Can also work as ice cubes in Water or Juice. Taste like a Popsicle, Yummy!!
  • So may ways to save as a student. For one do all your laundry at home so you save mega bucks from not spending at Laundry mats. Also, tell your mum how much you love her cooking so she is encouraged to send you loads of home cooked food in hampers to school or pack up a bag of food when you visit. You can always portion…
  • Good news Mwilke your boobs have shrunk! as cup size is proportinal to circumference as your strap size goes down if your boobs had stayed the same your cup size would have to go up. I know this as my boobs don't shrink so for every two inches of circumference I have lost I've gained a cup size! :grumble: So since the…
  • I wear make-up because I love wearing it. I wear it most days to work, just a 5 min natural polished look to help me look a wee bit older and more serious. When I was younger my boyfriends did tell me they preferred me without make-up but that was because I didn't know what I was doing and wore pretty over the top make-up.…

  • Can't see your diary so never know, could be lots of reasons like the list mentioned, you could eat too little, you could be in your last 10 lbs and then it gets very hard to shift. But overall below are some links I found very useful when I started on here:…
  • ^^This! Totally! It is not look at all the cool things I'm doing on my flash holidays, MFP is look at the crap I ate and help me stop. Look at all the hard work I've done and cheer my success and I'll do the same for you. MFP is my new FB :)
  • Great topic. Currently I drink 4 cups of filter coffee every morning with some (145ml) Alpro chocolate soya milk, shake the milk carton it like a polaroid picture before pouring in my travel mug to get a nice frothy foam on top and in my head it tastes like a good mocha with a third of the calories. The soya milk has…
  • Tom, All the best! You can do it, know you can. My top 3 tips: Tip one: Just MOVE I can imagine it probably hurts to walk - if not you are very lucky! Find something low impact that you can do easily without too many changes to your daily routine and do it daily. Try walking to the nearest grocery store or parking your car…
  • It appears you have got the bog standard plan that every "nutritionist" associated with a gym chain or personal trainer would give you. I've received to one of those when I got suckered into a "fitness package" at my gym. My friend is currently doing this basic plan and losing as she eats a LOT of clean foods. But neither…
  • When I used to walk to work I did 4 miles 5 days a week and if my legs weren't killing me I'd walk home getting that total up to 8 miles. Now my work is 7 miles from home so I don't walk that much about 2 miles a day to various transit, groceries and yoga studio. On the weekends (almost every weekend this year) I do a 10+…
  • Amazing, thanks for sharing!
  • Usually when one goes on a "diet" it involves restricting certain food items - commonly red meat. Lack of Iron can make you feel exhausted. Be sure to take some multi-vitamins to get your energy up. Can't see your diary but be sure you eat enough and eat back your exercise calories so the weight you lose stays off.
  • Online dating is tough and good on you to put yourself out there and take a positive step when given negative feedback. I think you need to just focus on yourself and find your happiness on your own terms. You will find that when you feel happy as you've worked out, or eaten healthy or fit into those jeans from years ago…
  • I've been there and sorry to tell you it isn't going to change - you can't change other people only yourself. Don't engage and don't pity eat. I was a miserable and overweight as a teenager, I got financially independent and moved the hell out of home at 17 and now live in a different country from my family. Yet when I…
  • I liked the movie but more because Robert Downie Jr carried it with his chrism. Can someone tell me how the suits kept running out of battery power when they are supposed to be powered by the arc reactor in his chest?
  • Perfect response!! I may steal it :) But so far been lucky not to experience this in the last decade ;)
  • LOL - now you are just encouraging the innuendo! :noway:
  • ^^ This, and thanks!
  • Ooh sounds interesting let me know how you get on - I'm off to Hot yoga in 1 hr
  • I use a grip dot yoga towel on a regular yoga mat, you can get them on Amazon for less than $30. But even just a regular beach towel over yoga mat will prevent you from slipping in a hot yoga class.
  • This happened to me on 2nd March - I only maintained and didn't loose weight all month but I lacked motivation so I really hope you can meet your goal! I did a modified version of the 30 day shred at home so replaced jumping jacks with punches got a good 20 min work out in most days it helped. I also did yoga which helped…
  • I wouldn't say limiting hunger pangs, water retention and stopping you from eating more at each meal is "limited" plus if you are drinking the recommended amount of water a day you will find less space in the belly for bad drinks like soda and juice which is full of sugar and non of of the good fiber. I love water!
  • BUMP for when I need motivation to stick with it!
  • <---- Me hiking along the Amalfi coast a few weeks back. I ate a 4 course Italian meal with wine every evening and managed to maintain my weight on holiday!! This weekend I burned 5,000 calories doing only 11 miles of hiking in the lake district but I did climb 800m during that hike and scrambling up a couple of rock faces…
  • I'm as addicted to this thread as I am to food in general - will need to try some of the suggestions on here - so yummy looking!
