  • Girl, you know I love ya. We've been MFP friends for like 2 weeks now (lol). I think it is awesome that you have set such a huge goal for yourself. I'm a total goal-setter and I'm excited to hear about your progress. I do agree that you should take him to some competitions and see if he and you for that matter get that…

  • I do a shake every weekday morning so I can drink it on my way to work. It's just a handful of frozen strawberries, handful of blueberries, half a banana, scoop of chocolate or vanilla cyto protein, and some water.
  • There's a MFP group called "recipe swap" and they have plenty of recipes on their page to keep one busy for a LONG time
  • I did my first half March 2011. I didn't train a whole lot, just ran once or twice a week and usually not more than 3 miles. I literally couldn't walk for 3 days afterwards. I agree with the post about whether you would feel like you really accomplished something if you walked most of it. Definitely start with a half :)

  • I run 3 times a week, with one of those runs being a "long run", which typically is 60-90 minutes. I spend another 2 days doing 30 minutes of other cardio (stair climbing, elliptical, cycling) and 30 minutes of strength training.
  • Hi! I'm new to the group and new to MFP! I was happy to find a group of runners! I've run 3 half marathons and my goal is to run a race in every state! My next race is the Wasatch Back Ragnar Relay on the 15th! It's my first Ragnar and I'm excited and nervous all at the same time! Happy running!

  • I would invest in a heart rate monitor. Maybe you're not getting your heart rate in its target zone. Also, even though you're staying under your calorie count maybe you're just not eating the right foods. I would definitely take up the above offer of having someone look at your food diary and let you know if any…

  • I'm also a drinker :) I usually just drink vodka with soda water and fresh mint. I limit myself to one drink night a week and I'm still able to lose weight.
  • I bought a big purse and keep lots of healthy snacks in there :) I pack turkey jerky, almonds, etc. so I can dive in when I need to.
  • Are you on Facebook? Women's Health Facebook site offers a weekend challenge that I do each weekend. The challenge gets me pumped for my day and I like to see the little progress I do from Friday - Monday. It also gets my mindset where it needs to be so I don't stray too far off the fitness path
  • spinach, light tuna with a tbsp of light mayo, 1 red apple diced, and a tbsp of olive oil and vinegar dressing......YUM!
  • I'll be your pal! I just became a member yesterday and am also looking for some new friends!
  • I ran my first half in March 2011. I didn't train for it but would run 3-4 times a week for up to 5 miles. It wasn't until I was at the Start line that I learned about the "sweepers" that we're going to pick us up out of the canyon if we didn't run out of it in a specific amount of time. That was all the motivation I…
  • I'm in the same boat! I work full time and trying to fit in time to exercise is stressful. Every night I say I'm going to get up early in the morning before the kids have gotten up but I'm always so tired from getting up with them all night that I just stay in bed. And then there's lunch time. I say I'll go then but I…
