Plus nobody seems to k ow about BFL. I guess I was a bit disappointed that there was not a good BFL app for keeping records.

Hi Rainbowbow, I see why you're confused. I find the scale to be very misleading and heartbreaking. When I gain muscle and get fit in the past, I sometimes see the scale go up. Drives me insane. And do we need to talk about bodybuilding and the BMI? I wanted a more objective goal broadly as body fat% and specifically pant…

Trainer said it would take 18 months. I was hoping for a year by my next birthday. We may have different priorities.

I don't know if you're interested but I know a great MD who treats thyroid disorder the right way and with the right meds. Because many patients drive a long ways to see him, he started doing virtual consultations. Message me if you want his name and website.

Nice to see this thread. 6ft, 47 yr 284 lbs. After prolonged frustrations at not losing weight at 225 lbs despite MFP at varying calories, not sweating despite intense gym effort, injuries, and stresses from family deaths and life, I neglected to exercise or record meals over the past two years and found myself 55 lbs…

Im so very glad that I followed my wifes plan and lost 15 pounds myself in 8 days.

Wow... Im not selling anything cept at our garage sale this weekend. :) BTW, My wife has never used any contraception or tubl. NFP has been our only way. Her MD says her thyroid disorder is most likely due nutritional factors affecting our food supply and especially the fluoride in our water supply.

Check your lease.... If the lease does not exclude it specifically then i suggestknow you might give it a shot to see if you get any complaints. I know this sounds bad but I think we need to be a little self centered to get in shape. Good luck!! :)

With 5 kids age 2-17, and a wife, i know exactly what you are saying. These other guys have all made good points. I find that the only free time I have in the day is during my lunch break (and weekend mornings). Until recently my employer usually let me flex out long enough to get a decent work out. That said, i find i…

"I still don't understand why it is acceptable for you to get money to buy your own healthy food and yet there's not enough money to buy healthy food for the kids. Sorry, you either need to suck it up and cut your budget somewhere else - cell phones, cable, entertainment, personal spending - or sacrifice so your kids can…
So you are feeding your kids crap while you eat good healthy food?
LOL. Yes. I feel terribly guilty. At least I did until this morning when I saw an empty Natures Pride whole wheat bread bag and low processed deli turkey after my teens fixed their lunch. On one hand I was proud they made good food choices…

My family returned to more frequent cheap evil food that the kids dont fight over. Hopefully it is just temporary that we have hotdogs, pizza, naxhos, and white bread for 3+ meals a week while I hide the "good" food. Unfortunately, whole wheat bread is 6. Times more expensive than the cheap "bread."

Awesome idea. I'm hoping Santa gets me my first gun for Christmas. :-)

I started the 17 day diet 15 days ago and lost more than 10 pounds so far. My next weigh in day is tomorrow. Im not hungry which is helpful and the short cycles of 17 days seems achievable. The food is clean and i think yummy withlimited lean meats protein and veggies for carbs. I dont think it is a gimic. The basic…

Bubs05, To clarify about South Beach, your roomie likely was following phase 1, which lasts no longer than two weeks. The main purpose of phase 1 is to rids ones addictions to sugars. Sugars includes items with a high glycymic index such as fruits and breads that digest quickly in the body. More protein is encouraged to…

Fried foods. Look for healhy substitutes. Several months ago I made a baked nut encrusted chicken with olive oil spayed on for crispness. Even the kids thought it was fried. For me some fried foods are still a barometer for me. I can eat a donut but if I do I know by history than it is start of a bad pattern. Still I…

I agree withto Bahacca. I would be extremely appreciative if anyone did this to me. Some people might prefer a private msg instead of a post. Actually I would kind of expect my MFP friends to say something. I suppose we are usually friends here for one reason only right?

OK. I can see the need to weigh food to be accurate. I'm also working out 5 days a week. To be successful is a food scale or HRM more important?

I just did workout A of the break in. I was sweating but did not think it was nearly as hard as other woekoutsto I had been doing. Ill do a cardio today and workout B tomorrow. I'm not sure at all whether Ill do another two weeks of this break in. I'm especially reconsidering any need to take a week off after the break in…
