I took a coaching lesson last week to go over the dead lift and the squat. Everything I have been doing was wrong!! The coach pointed everything that was wrong and god knows how many points there were. It's probably going to take a while to perfect it, but I feel much better now when I do it. Probably the best £30 i have…

You need to post what program you followed and your food regimen, because to achieve this in 12 weeks to me is just amazing. Great result

Well done mate, has anyone told you that you look a bit like Rich Froning?
-
Don't forget also that crossfit workouts can be fitted to your fitness, we are not all Rich Froning. I don't belong to a Crossfit box, but if you choose a good one the coach should bring you in at a pace you can follow but still be challenging

This I started eating a couple of small soft tortilla with about 100gr turkey steak grilled and salad made of red onion, tomatoes, lettuce and sweet red pepper, and a generous amount of salsa. I think it get to just over 300 calories and it is quite filling

Thanks! It does not make me feel better but that's good to know :) :) . Waiting for the weather to pick up a bit and I will get the old trusted Specialized out of the garage

psuLemon, i think this is something that could work well for me. Thank you!! Trying to find a good program now.
-
psuLemon, thank you. Consistency is not a problem, i will stick to what i am doing. Good idea about taking a lifting program and adding some extra work, thus I am not sure that I would add the right stuff. I am enjoying the dumbbell work out right now, but next Monday i am having a coaching session to show me the proper…

Thanks guys. Sijomial, regarding the routine, i was on PPL for a few weeks but got bored of it, i have just switched to a full body workout using dumbbell. I don't like really doing the same thing all the time as I get bored. As a guy which is the same age bracket as me and seems to know his stuff, what would you suggest I…

How long do you roast the broccoli for? What about carrots, do you part boil them at all?

Eat raw garlic and burb in their face when they talk to you :D :D :D

Thanks crackpotbaby, though i don't have intention to do Crossfit, but i do some exhausting workout sometimes and last thing I want is to end up in bad spot.

Thanks for the info, will do next time I see him. Did not know anything about it, until I saw this article, and the doctors never mentioned to me to be careful with exercising. I will ask a few question when I see him next (which is next week actually). Thank you! J

While you are right in what you are saying in a way, you were not there to see his overall form, with the bar not even horizontal (and I doubt that it was what he was trying to do) while pulling down, and his head/neck arched in a very awkward way. I have never done that before to tell somebody that they are not doing the…

Yes you are probably right, but i could just see that guy was going to do himself some damage, and I could not say anything, I never meant to tell him what to do or how to do it (as i am not an expert) or criticise him in any way, but I would hate to see someone injuring themselves
-
I don't do it because i was told to avoid it because of risk of injury, but i still know enough to see when somebody's form is all over the place, you don't have to be qualified for this From the Bodybuilding.com, but maybe they don't know what they are talking about... "Looking at the evidence, the front pull-down is the…

That's what I do when I go to the gym, get there, do my thing and go home. But for the first time last week I spoke to a guy that was doing pull down pulling behind his head, his form was terrible and I mean terrible. I went to him to suggest that it would be better pulling at the front (that's what i was always told, less…

Slice of toasted wholemeal granary bread with 2 fried eggs (3 to 4 spray of coconut oil), black coffee, no sugar OR 2 slices of toast with spread

Thanks JJPPTT2, I am not worried about the 10 calories, it was more that my daily intake keep going down. I do struggle on days when i don't exercise to stay level or below my allowed calories intake, still feel like some days where i want to raid the fridge (I guess it makes me a volume eater). I need to widen my dish…

Thank you guys! I will bear this in mind when i get a bit of the munchies in the evening, nice to have a treat or 2 once in a while

One of my lunch is a full bag of washed rocket salad (i love rocket), some cherry tomatoes and little can of tuna already flavoured (save me to use any sauce. It comes to 17 calories for the whole bag of rocket (60gr), ~36 calories for the tomatoes (12 of them), and ~155 calories for the tuna (depends on the flavour, I…

Well done, stick a picture of yourself at 350lbs on the fridge to motivate you, just to remind you how far you have gone and that you don't ever want to go back to where you come from

Fresh bread (baguette) with cheese (any type of cheese) and cold meat (ham, chorizo, etc)

Cornichons with chillies from Tesco (this is in the UK), very low in calories, very spicy. Hit the spot when you fancy something savoury

I have been training since Jan-31, I think you are right. I have increased a fair bit on legs day, but Pull and Push have come to a bit of standstill. Today what i have done is doing on my compound set, and extra set of 1x with maybe 2.5kg extra (that's the minimum i can add). I am quite happy to carry on that way, though…

What is disheartening is that it takes approx. 20mins t burn ~200 calories, and you can eat it back in about 15 seconds ;0)

Thanks for the reply. I am going to see how I cope with the new regime, if it's still too much I will look at something else. I had a quick look at a few lifting programs for beginners on the front page of the forum, Strong lift 5 x 5, Waterbury method and the Hugh Jackmans Wolverine Workout, but they also seem quite a…

Thanks, I only started a few weeks ago but today i was just feeling tired and could not take myself to the gym. A 3 on, 1 off routine can make it 6 times a week, never went that much to the gym before and at 56 my recovery time is not as fast as it used to be. So I am quite happy to drop to a 2 on, 1 off routine.
