  • I thought it was just me! I've tried making it with milk and adding nuts but I just crash later. I'm sensitive to blood sugar swings (hungry = crazy) and I've found that the more protein I eat at breakfast the more balanced I am all day. Maybe oatmeal for dinner or as a snack?
  • If you can figure out how to prepare tofu in a way you can tolerate there are high-protein varieties that will keep you from being hungry for hours for about 100-120 calories (plus whatever you use to prepare). A curry or masala sauce can really help the bland flavor of tofu, plus some frozen spinach sneaks veggies in.
  • I have never understood why people say oatmeal sticks to your ribs, I get a blood sugar crash 2 hours after I eat it because it's so high in carbs. Since I started eating a high protein breakfast I have not had that problem.
  • I eat a veggie burger on a skinny whole wheat bun for breakfast. I know it's a bit odd but I need a lot of protein to keep my blood sugar level even. You could make it a veggie sausage sandwich to make it more like breakfast.
