  • I have the Fitbit zip and like it, bought watch bands to wear as watch. Had a late morning work call so I went over to the gym and made my call on the bike! Was very proud of self. Feeling tired but good.
  • Just trying here. Trying to be present and focused and mindful of what I eat.
  • Sherry, that's one heck of a check-in. I'm pooped just reading it! VAL, CONGRRRRRRATS ON YOUR RACE! YOU ROCK! Marla, beach walks sound lovely to me. Just trying to get through the day without inhaling all the food. So far, so good. I prepped all my meals and snacks yesterday so it was easy to make the healthy choice.
  • Great! My November goals are; 1) fill out checklist daily 2) post on DWP daily 3) if I fall down, get back up
  • Just wanted to say it's Groundhog Day over here. Tried another unsustainable diet and failed. Seriously Laura gave me great advice weeks ago but I guess I do learn everything the hard way. Also got some labs back and my numbers are :( . Cholesterol, triglycerides, no Bueno. Blood sugar just squeaked under. Seriously ate…
  • Just wanted to say hello. Hello! Had family visiting this weekend so it's a little bit hectic. But I ate mindfully for the most part and while I ate over calories, I did not gorge or eat my feelings or eat past comfort. Small victories, right? Also trying to do some pre-week prep today. Got savory pumpkin soup in the crock.
  • I feel calm today, much calmer than the past weeks. (And, no that's not from mommy's little helper). Maybe just because I stopped the bleeding... I looked back at what I was eating last year while slowly-but-surely losing and it certainly wasn't perfect. Lots of produce and even sweets here and there. So here I am,…
  • Thank you, Laura. That was obviously just for me! I was bummed that I gained almost 20lbs from last year. Then I didn't change my behavior, gorged on junk foods, and now I weigh 200lbs. Oh, so blue! I know what to do. Now, to do it!
  • So glad you all are here!
  • My after dinner/emotional eating is :( What are your suggestions?
  • Looks like a good weekend all the way around! I planned on resting today but got suckered into taking a long city walk. The weather was really nice and it was mostly downhill. I definitely got my steps today. Weighed in yesterday it was lighter--I was v happy that I finally stopped the bleeding.
  • Tired, dirty, and happy just wanted to check in, feeling good. Did as well as I could today with a fall festival and then out to dinner with friends. Did not go for a workout, but still managed to get in about 2500 extra steps from walking around farm in boiling heat. Here's hoping everyone sleeps in tomorrow!
  • YAHOO for breaking through plateaus! Valma, that's an awesome drop in time! You're kicking booty and taking names all over the place. Sherry, sorry to hear your sleeping is off---I know how that feels. I know it's hard when you're exhausted, but I've found moving (no matter how slowly) is good for sleep so your body is…
  • I just got a Subaru Forester. Love it also. Rest day today, evidently I needed 9 hours of sleep.
  • Thank you all for the warm welcome! It's great to be back. Valma, I also love the Odyssey and if I had more than one kid would definitely get one. If you want a minivan-related laugh, Google Swagger Wagon and watch the video. Feeling good this week. Started Monday with an AM walk, Pilates yesterday, today I'm just trying…
  • Hello, DWP! It's been ages and I missed you. Last Christmas I weighed 179. Today I am 194. I got the exact opposite outcome of what I wanted---gaining 15lbs instead of losing them. It was a perfect storm of emotional eating/bingeing, my trainer moving to the Midwest, moving to a terrific house with a huge commute so now I…
  • Sherry, I'm sorry to hear about your mom. Of course it's rough for you and your family and your dad. You've mentioned revisiting some decisions and that makes sense. You make decisions based on the information that you have and when the information changes, it can affect the decisions. I've been doing okay, this week has…
  • So of course the very day I set my goal of steps, yesterday, my fitness tracker bites the dust for good. My company is providing some soon, so I'm gonna wait and see if that works out before I spend the money. Feel calmer today. Made high protein green chile chicken enchilada casserole (aka Mexican mishmash) and it was…
  • Tracking Planning Shopping Goal for this week: Get in 7k steps every day
  • Grumpy today, want to eat all of the food. No, just all of the junk food. Grumble grumble, will be back to my usual self soon, I hope. SERENITY NOW!!!
  • ^^great thread starter! Just wanted to check in and say I'm doing okay. Hope everyone had a nice weekend. And if you celebrate Father's Day, I hope that was nice too. Marla, your trip sounds great so far. Valma, I'm going to PM you for recipes. It sounds like this summer is the home stretch for you! Sherry, safe travels!…
  • Maureen, perfect threadstarter! Marla, vineyard walking? Now you're just bragging :) Sherry, glad to hear that your back is starting to feel better. Have had a few good days in a row and am starting to feel calmer. For me, it's all about the planning and prep. I've also started making double dinners twice a week so we…
  • Not a perfect day but not horrible either. Progress I guess. For me it's all about the planning. Succeeded in confusing self about healthy eating (low cal, low carb) then remembered Laura's words about sustainability. Want to lose weight& keep it removed so sustainability is key. Going to bed early is my version of…
  • Yesterday was no good so I'm starting over. Healthy plan for today plus prep already done and went for walk with work pal. I'm reminding myself of what works and just doing the next right thing.
  • DAMN YOU TRADER JOES AND YOUR DELICIOUS DARK CHOCOLATE ALMOND BAR
  • Marla, sounds like a perfect vacation to me! Busy day just wanted to report its been nearly a week without a binge. Breakfast, lunch, and snacks are prepped and ready to go for tomorrow. Clothes are a little snug... Gotta start at the beginning, right?
  • I must know---what is a yuppie salad?
  • And here I am. Last week I started a low-carb, high-fat diet (I'm not a crazy person, I still eat carrots and some fruit) and it's challenging because it requires a lot more effort than oh, sandwich, cereal, etc. But it's easier in a way because it takes foods that are hard to moderate (read: sweets) off the table. I've…
