PS--Could someone pin this to the announcements board?

I actually make my own taco seasoning since the packets have a lot of sodium, but why not ask DH to pick up a bunch when he is in the US? They weigh practically nothing... Chicken Fajitas Roughly 1.5lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts cut into strips (or chunks) 2 onions, sliced (white or yellow or whatever you have. If…

Hear, hear, Marla! This is a WONDERFUL group! You all have been very supportive for me too. <virtual group hug> Valma, I know it feels good to check nagging things off the list. I went to the dentist and the eye doctor this month :) So the meal I had last night was a special, I don't know what it was called but it was…

^^ word. Okay, I'm too old to say word but my scale hasn't been friendly lately. Last night after work a vendor took my team out for a work dinner and it was---surprisingly---one of the best meals I've ever had. Now that's worth the calories. The winter blues have found me and I'm counting down until daylight saving time…

Thanks for the nice words. I'm trying to keep my chin up. Congrats, Laura! You've been at least two different people between 2013-now. Awesome job! Val, I love seeing your exercise ambitions. It's really exciting! Sherry, even though your run was short it seems like you're certainly very active! I sit in front of my…

Tuesday 5* So glad that I prepped healthy meals for this week over the weekend * Worked out yesterday, got up early and did my homework this morning * Brought lots of produce to work today * Dinner out tonight with great peeps, am going to have a nice night * Ate a lot closer to my calories yesterday than in previous days

Sunday 10* Swam laps after toddler swim class---looked for my click. Discovered I really need a good breakfast to have energy for 30 minutes of lap swim. * Had unsatisfying breakfast, then swim, then protein bar, then ended up at WF at 3:30 starving. Ate slice of pizza and chocolate pretzels on the way home. * Met with 2…

Sherry, sounds like a great Saturday! And it's quite a coup that you got your hubs to the gym. Valma, it's totally a different story to think about treats vs binge. For the former, I'm asking is it worth it? For the latter, I want to unhinge my jaw and shovel all the food in. Last night I had my weekly treat meal... Today…

Looks like things as on the upswing for the DWPs! I've been caffeine free for 5 years and it's okay once you get over the hump. And I'm a fool for musicals too :). Took unplanned rest day since I overslept and was v cold & icy today. Not a biggie. I'm still clicking for the most part.,,and then TOM arrived. So I'm trying…

Jen, you certainly had happy feet yesterday. Laura, just reading what you’ve been up to is making me tired! I’m impressed with your stamina! Marla, I’m the same way with lack of sunshine affecting me. Sherry, it sounds like it can be isolating sometimes. I hope that you make good use of Skype and similar to stay in touch…

I’ve been searching for that elusive click—the one that makes me want to make the healthy choice—and I found it yesterday! I was swimming laps and trying to go for 30mins instead of my usual 20. At the half hour mark and I decided just one more. Then just one more! Felt great and also I love my waterfi. Soooo much more…

Yesterday I made pulled barbeque chicken in the crock. It's so easy I'm showing you what a lazy cook I really am! Here's the "recipe": Just put raw chicken (I use skinless, boneless breasts or thighs) in the crock, fill about halfway with water, and add 1t salt and 1T liquid smoke. Slow cook on low for 6-8 hours. When you…

Doing good not great---a big improvement over last week. Progress, not perfection. I feel like I've fallen down 999 times and gotten up 1,000.

Sherry, I'm already mulling Feb goals too. Donna, you're crushing it!!

So we’re ¾ of the way into January and this is my first follow-up post. I don’t want to quantify so here’s the upshot: Doing Great: Log all calories Be prepared by making weekday breakfast/lunch/snacks the night before Eat something within 1 hour of waking up Move for at least 5 minutes every day Doing Okay: Check in on…

Hello, hello! Sherry, I'm so glad that the soup turned out well for you! I forgot to mention that when slow cooking you need the crock to be at least 2/3- 1/2 full, and you can put a smaller glass bowl (oven safe) inside the crock to cook if you have just a small volume of something.

Hello, hello! This weekend I was on a ROLL! Friday crazy trainer workout, Sat pilates, yesterday I swam laps after my toddler's swim lesson with my waterfi and loved it! Plus ate within my calories! We ended up going shopping, well really returning, at the mall and I must have gotten in a gazillion steps but forgot to wear…

Sorry---that probably didn't make sense. I take out 1.5-2 cups of veggies, blend the rest (a handblender will be your BFF here), and then add the other veggies back in to the crock. I like my soup to be a bit chunky, I don't like it the consistency of baby food.

Marla, great threadstarters. Great to have a day alone, I’m jealous. Also I posted a couple of healthy slow cooker recipes in a different thread if you’re interested. Valma, eating Ritz crackers AND staying in range of your goal is nothing short of a WIN! Sherry, glad you got in a last running hurrah! Sorry to hear about…

Broccoli Soup INGREDIENTS 1.5 tsp unsalted butter 1 bag frozen chopped broccoli (or you could buy fresh and cut it yourself) Some frozen, diced onions 3 medium carrots, diced 3 cups hot water 1 tbsp chicken better than bullion or one chicken bouillon cube (Or, if you’re fancy, you could just use 3 cups of chicken broth) 1…

Breathe. Sigh. Okay. Not going to rehash yesterday, just moving forward. Healthy breakfast, lunch, snacks, and tonight's dinner's in the crock. Took a 23-minute walk at work to move booty. Will eat a protein shake if still hungry after dinner. Pennies make dollars.
