The fact that it's Friday! Woohoo! The thought that I'm leaving the office soon for champange afternoon tea with two of my girlies and have a fun night planned with another friend. Too many things - Fridays are fab.

Aw thanks @HawleyGriffin, that made me smile again. Twice in one day - what is the world coming to? :D
-
@HawleyGriffin there's time yet! Talking Halloween outfits for upcoming events made me smile >:)

For yesterday: first run since holiday. Smile might be pushing it - it was more of a grimace!

Well, I've achieved two of my goals: beaten my previous Half Marathon PB and run a full marathon. Last thing for this year is to run a sub 25 minute 5k again. Distance has been taking up all my attention recently, I want to pick up my sped again.

I love running, yet my head often tells me that I hate it, that I don't want to put my trainers on and go out. I just make myself do it. I find the mornings easiest so i don't have enough time to back out of it (although getting up early can be a struggle) - by afternoon/evening my resolve has gone.

Hi all, bit late, but I'm in for 35 miles for the rest of this month.
-
Wow, well done! You're going great guns!
-
@melmelw03 That was such a lovely story! Making plans with one of my besties for nights out made me smile today.

Hi all, A bit late to the party, but better late than never, I guess! I could definitely do with a challenge to get me back on track. I had been doing really well...and then I went on holiday and used that as an excuse to binge eat everything in sight and if I'm honest, I haven't stopped since coming back! Name: Caz Age:…

SW 150lbs GW 140lbs Good luck, everyone!

Definitely spend more time here! Everyone is more than happy to talk about people's struggles, successes, achievements, off days. :)

Hey, a bit late to the party, but I'm in need of some motivation!
-
@fitrep1 funnily enough, I was also thinking about this earlier...definitely more miles than I should have as I've done a HM (plus around two months training beforehand) and training for my marathon in them! Luckily I have a neutral gait, but ideally I should have got new ones a month or so ago. Bit late now

Thanks everyone for all the advice and support. @brianpperkins I did suspect that this was a posture issue. To an extent, there's not a lot I can do about that because I'm wonky, but being aware is a good start. I haven't had any problems with any of my other runs other than my last long one and today. With any luck, a…

@yesimpson thank you so much for the links and taking the time to post, that's really helpful.
-
@emhunter sorry to hear you had to give up running. I'm keeping everything crossed I can sort this out would hate not to run
-
I would second walking! It's a good starting point to help beginners get out of the house and moving and it's not too daunting. I'm sure she'll appreciate the company and will soon be ready to progress onto something else.

Plantar Fasciitis? Where in the foot does it hurt? People tend to think of this as a runner's complaint, but it can be caused by many things. I'm surprised your Dr hasn't heard of this! Try the stretches and see if they help, but you may need to go back to the Drs or see a physio to get to the root of it.

Arh, my stupid ticker won't update! Total is 61.8 miles!
-
@skippygirlsmom urgh, don't you just love unsolicited advice? Funny how none of these random people ever have anything useful to say! It's boiling in London today (30°) so a more leisurely pace was key today on my long run. I was aiming for 18 miles but my route turned out to be 18.9 - bonus!
-
9.3 miles on the treadmill after work. More of a mental challenge than a physical one, I was quite prepared to give up after 6 miles.
-
Glad it's not just me! Yep, am a massive advocate of water! Spent yesterday afternoon drinking water and peppermint tea. It was more of a case of wanting to eat than really needing to, but I lasted the afternoon without caving :) @derekspiewak I have to be really careful what I eat before I run too and have had that…

Sadly, people would rather take the magic pill than go the old fashioned route of sustained hard work! Tortoise and the hare...only in this case, the hare not only falls asleep but ends up somewhere beyond the start line!
-
We all know at least of those people. Frustrating, but being skinny and being healthy are two different things! The person in question is probably only trying to help you - albeit very misguidedly. I have friends who like to preach to me in other ways and about other things (I'm quite happy finding my own way, thanks!),…

This is a battle well known to me! I've never regretted hitting the gym or going for a run but I've certainly regretted not going. As soon as I'm out there, I enjoy it....so why is it such a battle sometimes? I can spend as long (if not longer) finding reasons/excuses not to go, trying to allow myself not to go, then…

Wow! You've done so well and you looked amazing for your reunion. Photographic evidence is so great for keeping motivation up. Sadly, I've never done it.

Getting behind on my logging! 13.9 miles Sunday (shorter than planned due to a nagging injury), 4.2 miles this morning (shorter than planned due to my inability to get out of bed any earlier!)
