@aeloine yay! Not to mention the 150 lbs or so of junk in your ex you've got rid of that she's gained :D

I have two petty reasons: 1) I want to look good - I love clothes but just feel so meh and scruffy when I feel overweight and make zero effort and I hate it. 2) I don't want to be a frumpy mummy at the school gates.

I find it hard to get out of the door but once I'm there I enjoy it. I try to remember how great I feel once I've gone and remind myself that I've never regretted going, but I've regretted not going. I also think of the wasted money if I don't make the most of my membership! I think the key is finding somethi g that fits…

Thanks for the tips and support. @Rose18I I agree, planning is definitely key, @100_PROOF_ it helps so much to know others have come through the other side and thanks for the non-judgy response and @amgreenwell I can't imagine how tired you must be right now - you're doing great just to make it to work and prepare…

As stupid as it sounds, I didn't know there were training plans when I did my first HM, so you're much better prepared than I was! I'm still not a massive fan of them now and tend to use them as a guide rather than a strict schedule. As for tips, I second a good pair of trainers. Go to a running shop that provides gait…

@cwolfman13 Ouch!!!

Hi @Havery2017, sorry you're having a hard time with anxiety/depression - you're right, they really do suck! Your diet may not be where you want it yet, but you're staying within your calories every day, which is a massive achievement. You've nailed that part, you can work on the content - one thing at a time.

Does being pregnant count as falling off the wagon? If so, that's me! I was training for a marathon when I found out I was pregnant and went from doing a lot of exercise to not a lot! Looking to get back in shape and aiming at running a half in by next March.
-
Hello! I'm also a new mum - my little girl is 3 weeks tomorrow! I haven't weighed myself yet but I know I gained some weight during my pregnancy (other than bump). Try not to feel annoyed with yourself, your body just wants to store fat when you're pregnant, it's complety natural (please remind me of this when I finally…

Getting out on my own for a brisk walk!

I have scoliosis! First suspected by my school nurse but overlooked/rubbished by my GP, when I left school at 18 and got an office job, I suddenly found myself in a lot of pain. Went to an Osteopath aged 19, who told me I have a mild scoliosis. I suffer with stiffness/needing to click around the area of the curvature and…

I'm also lopsided (scoliosis!) So the best I can hope for is some back alignment exercise to help. I do have an Osteopath I've seen for almost 20 years too, so hoping he'll be able to help me out a bit too. Thanks for all the contributions. Xx

Thanks for the responses. My initial thought was that it's imbalance due to my scoliosis. I'll try the foam rolling and continue with stretching and yoga and see how things go with a view to seeing a physio if nothing improves. I had a slight issue during my last marathon training (but only when it got to mile 18/mile 20…

Thanks! Yes, I think I did jump in on the long run too soon. I stupidly thought I'd be OK as I've run quite a few half marathons but I have taken a break from those kinds of distances over the last couple of months. I'll scale bsck the length of my long runs and continue training I think.

got the job! Now grinning to myself like a crazy woman!

Great story, your progress has been amazing!

@hawkins410 Hey there! You've come to a good place for accountability and motivation! The festive season is always tough, sooo much temptation just about everywhere!
-
Ha ha indeed, @karllundy

Thanks! I'm keeping everything crossed :)

Didn't make it to the gym last night, as my plans changed, but I did make it this morning and not only did the workout scheduled for today, but also the one I missed yesterday too. Today my motivation is thinking out my weigh-in next Tuesday! I need to work hard to make up for yesterday's indiscretions!

<3 can't smile yet - waiting to hear whether I get a job offer today...

3.1 miles on the treadmill this morning - first ten minutes were the hardest convincing myself not to get off because I was feeling bored! The joys of treadmill running!

That's an amazing motivator! Also sending a friend request.

Great work B)

I'm not going to let anything stress me out.

No flack from me, I think that's a great post! Sounds like you're recovering really well and have adopted a healthy mindset.

Reminding myself how good I feel for exercising: my mood instantly lifts, I feel positive and happy. I get quite cranky if I don't do enough and fall into a bit of a slump in general. I work in an office so i spend most of my day indoors in a temperature controlled environment with strip lighting, sitting on my backside -…

@vaguelyvegan, @rmcobb327, @saraakhund Welcome! @c1ownfishie Awesome! good luck with the training B)

To make it to the gym after work! By the end of the day, I normally have no willpower to make myself go - I want to show myself that I can break the pattern.
