I think it's a good general rule of thumb for determining your weight loss or maintenance goal but it's also important to judge by how you look and feel too and elements like body fat percentage, measurements, etc. For an example, I am overweight at around 27 and I know I'll be "healthy" at 65 KG / 143.3 lb which would be…

Word! Seriously, some days you may just not feel "motivated" to do anything but you still have to get up off your butt and go do it. Otherwise, you will just keep making excuses of "oh, I don't feel like it" or "I don't feel motivated". Some days I don't but lately I've pushed myself to do something almost everyday this…

I weighed myself on the 1/9 and judging by someone else post this group started on the 3rd? So I'm using my starting weight from the 1st as my starting weight for the group and I'll be weighing in on Monday (Sunday night for America and such). This group finishes on the 12th of December, right? Sorry, I only just found the…

I don't see the harm in warning him he is getting off track. Help motivate him into sticking with his goals and remind him that he is doing it for his health. Learn to cook together, go exercise together, anything to help him start enjoying his journey in fitness. It sounds like you already have a good attitude when it…

I use to drink tea. I only really drink water now but I believe with many different types of teas they have antioxidants which help benefit your body and can also help you detox I believe. I only drink black when I drink tea and it's usually loaded with sugar, which isn't healthy at all but I need it to stand the taste. :P

Sounds like way too many carbs and natural sugar to me... :s It's all about trail and error when it comes to forming a meal plan or deciding what you're going to eat I believe. Make sure your macros are done (or close to done) each day. Do some research in how much carb, fat and protein you need too. Don't just put your…

Sorry about your dad, and your mum but you need to stop making excuses. You either want to do it or you don't. Don't let your mind win. Sometimes you have to get off your butt even when you are tired and get something in. You can do it. You just have to apply yourself.

Try not to get obsessed with the numbers. Think of them as mainly as estimate than an actual deadline because weight is not very predictable.
-
I want about 18-20% for me. :)

The heart rate monitor is going to be more accurate due to it reading your heart rate, where as a Fitbit takes your information off the steps and distance of your walking you do, I believe. I could be wrong though.

A compliment. It's rude that they said you were an overweight person but nether the less it's a compliment.

Don't be in a rush to lose the weight. Find something you love and stick to it. :)

It is never, ever too late to find health and fitness. You can do it! :)
