Fitbit one vs heart rate?!?

I have a fitbit one that I have worn a few times on both my waist and bra. The numbers just didn't seem right. I work out 45 min a day and walk a mile to and from work and walk my dog an hour or more. I was getting 1400 calories burned so I started using my heart rate monitor while exercising and off course there was a big difference. I decided to wear both on a walk with my dog and track distance on my phone, use heart rate, and use fitbit. My heart rate says I burned 200 calories more during that time and my distance was a mile and a half longer. I don't know what numbers to use or why there would be such a difference. Anyone solve this issue?

The heart rate monitor is going to be more accurate due to it reading your heart rate, where as a Fitbit takes your information off the steps and distance of your walking you do, I believe. I could be wrong though.0

Your HR is a much better indicator of calories burned, but it sounds like you need to set up your stride etc. for the fitbit.
See here for instructions on how to do this:

Hope this helps.0
