Keep in mind if you are eating substantially less, it will take longer for your intestines to fill up so you feel the need to go. As others have said, you should be adding fiber to your diet. If you are truly constipated, or on meds that make you so, you may need a stool softener.

I use semisweet chocolate morsels for my treat but if I really need a lot, like a whole chocolate bar, I buy ONE, savor and enjoy and log the calories. Then I either exercise or somehow fit it in. Just plan for the treats and it won't feel like you are ruining everything.

Eat your supper a little later but plan it for bulk. Lots of steamed veggies. Take up an incompatible hobby, gardening, crocheting, hiking, biking. Anything that will keep your mind off of food and your hands out of the fridge.

I have lost a friend to bariatric surgery. She died on the table. Another friend came very close to dying due to complications :-( Any type of surgery is not without risks. My doctor at one time recommended it for me. I refused and changed doctors. When I asked him about the success rate, he said it was low. Even with the…

Obviously, though your roommate may be a friend, you are not compatible living together. Move out as soon as possible if you can. You really don't have to give a reason to her. If your name is on the lease, tell her she needs to move. The drugs should be reason enough. Be prepared to take on the whole lease cost though if…

Hi, Take your total calories and divide how you want to proportion your meals. I get 1290 ca. and like to have about 300 for breakfast, 350 for lunch, and the rest for my evening meal and snacks. I try not to eat all my exercise cals back. Now, look at the food choices in the database and write down the foods that will…

I would eat a reasonable breakfast of 300 cal or less. Maybe a small sandwich and light soup for lunch. That will leave you plenty of calories for a reasonable restaurant supper. You can mix it up by having a salad for lunch. (no cheese or croutons) If you are making yourself you could do 2 cups of lettuce, 1 roma tomato,…

Congratulations on changing your diet to include healthy choices. Great first step! Now, as other posters have said, invest in a digital food scale and use it religiously to count the calories you are eating. The nice thing is you can always exercise more to offset extra calories. Use the website the way it was intended…

Invest in one piece of gym equipment that you can use at home while the kids are playing in another room. A treadmill or other favorite. Cost would probably be less than one year of gym.

It is so easy to mindlessly eat chips until the bag is gone. No need to give them up, just count out your serving size, put in a bowl and enjoy. (Do not go back for seconds!) Don't forget to log the calories as part of your intake.

Start counting the calories. I buy frozen chicken breasts but there is such a variation in size the only accurate way I know how much I am eating is to weigh my portion on a digital scale and log the calories here on MFP. Same for other foods. Bananas vary in size, a smallish apple is actually 2 servings if you weigh it.…

The gym is all you have? Nope not really. Check your community for events that you can get involved in, find out who is in charge and volunteer. Like sports? Youth programs are always looking for a coach or coach's helper. Like animals? Volunteer at a humane society. Check out local churches to see what ministries are…

Daily weight fluctuations are natural. Almost everybody will blame it on water retention but it also depends on where you are in your "solid" retention. (poop cycle). It is more accurate to weigh weekly and to measure trends. A body can hold as much as 10 lbs of waste before letting it go.
-
First, you are not hopeless. Take a step back and decide if today is the day you start your weight loss journey. Next forget about the scale you step on. It is very fickle and the daily fluctuations are enough to get anyone discouraged. Now, if you have not yet done so, purchase a good quality digital food scale. Learn to…

I would try for the 1200-1500 Cal per day but not stress if you choose to go up to 1800 on a day. Just make sure you log as accurately as possible. That way you will not feel too restricted and will still lose although maybe not 2 lb a week. It didn't get put on in a week, it won't come off in a week. Try to offset some of…

I don't have cheat nights. I have days where I choose to eat a bit more than my recommended calories. I try to log though to keep things in check. And yes, following up with exercise will help offset those extra calories.

Go ahead and eat a ton of food. Just make sure it is low calorie. A large salad with chicken breast on top can be very satisfying. 2 cups iceburg lettuce, 1/3 cucumber, onion if you like, 1 roma tomato, 1 fugi apple diced, your 3 oz chicken breast, and a little bit of dressing. Ton of food for little calories.
-
Not what you are eating but I find 2 cups iceburg lettuce, 1 roma tomato, 2 slices low fat turkey lunch meat, 1/3 cucumber, 1 fugi apple diced, and a bit of dressing very satisfying. You could mix it up with other vegies if you like but you will find it to be a lot of food for very little calories. Maybe save enough…

If you do not have one, a good digital food scale is a must. Then learn to use it faithfully and log your foods religiously. I find if I log before I eat it helps me stay on track. Keep in mind that the foods in the database may not be accurate so keep looking until you find the one that is most accurate or add your own.…

Eat your full amount of calories. If you are exercising, eat some of those back as well. Make sure you drink at least 8 cups of water a day. And most important: Weigh all of your food and log it faithfully. Do not underestimate sizes. My small (to me compared to others I could have bought) was actually 2 servings. The bowl…

What a fun trip! Memories with mom for your child that will last a lifetime. You ROCK!

You will definitely want to faithfully log your food after you have weighed it on a good quality digital food scale. I was mistakenly thinking an apple was 1 serving, then weighed my apple and found it was more than 2 servings even allowing for the core. Same can be said for bananas and other fruit. Work the plan as MFP…

one serving of semisweet chocolate chips, savor each morsel and build into your calories. Walk a few extra steps to cover it.

I found WW very confusing with the point system they constantly change, free fruits and vegetables (WTH?) and of course the cost. I come back here and it is straight calories, easier to wrap my brain around, tools are easy to use, and of course it is free. This makes it a lifestyle change and I know I am going to have to…

You might want to take up an evening hobby that is incompatible with eating. I do crocheting, sewing, reading, painting, etc. I am about to embark on model railroading. Z scale so really tiny but it will take time to get my layout the way I want. Of course this doesn't help if you are ravenously hungry. So the idea would…

I have found that apples and cucumbers are my friends on this journey. I take the time to slice them both in small chunks and savor every chunk. It can sometimes take 30 minutes to eat an apple and 1/2 cucumber. By the time I finish, I am no longer hungry. couple that with a glass of water or two. You could also use mini…

If you want to eat right when you get home, you need to plan for it to make sure you have the correct foods. Perhaps having a container in the fridge that will hold your portioned snacks will help. I find a sliced cucumber, sliced apple, maybe some celery sticks will provide the munch and crunch that I need but with few…

Walking with the kids is a great idea. Or if you have a dog make it a family outing. It will also set them up for success later in life as they remember the good times they had hiking with Mom. You can look up geocaching, or play Pokémon Go if you need a goal to get out there. Instead of a local gym, since you have small…

Took some years ago when I was looking for a quick solution. Quit them when I could feel my heart racing. The down side years later I a now a patient with A-Fib that possibly can be attributed to the time when I took the diet pills. Now I need to stay away from energy drinks, diet pills, caffeine, etc. if I want to stay…

I quit logging earlier in the summer. Yep, then all of a sudden I am 30 lbs heavier than I was. Guess logging needs to be a lifetime commitment. I am back!
