I started adding mine to salads in place of cucumbers. Made a taco salad last week and didnt have a cucumber but did have half a small zucchini left over....was just fine.

Some people just have big calves.....same with ankles. Even in 4th grade at 88 pounds my calves were 12 inches. As an adult I've never had calves smaller than about 14.5 even at my leanest.

And realize that you are NOT likely to be losing 2 to 3 pounds a week.... You also have to get realistic with your goals.

Hello from a former Duluthian :) Never heard of anyone jumping in the lake afterwards. (COLD!) My goal is for getting back in fitness so I can do the in-line marathon. To those running, have fun!

800 to 900 calories are less than what my 36 pound 5 year old eats in a day. Simply put you are eating too few calories.

When it comes to veg....cooking methods and seasonings are your friends.
-
Stir fry.....ours are usually mainly veg There's a roasted Moroccan Chicken and Roasted Vegetable recipe on epicurious (I usually add whatever veg we have and maybe some apples) Vegetable based soups Adding minced/shredded veg into a cheese filling for lasagna or stuffed shells (using sliced zucchini in place of noodles)…

Water weight.... But I would also say that a 'big plate of fries and fried shrimp' and '1 dessert' a day may have significantly more calories than you think. Case in point.....Perkins French Silk Pie....one slice is 740....yes, 740 calories. Here I thought it was maybe around 500.....not adding that to my menu plan ever…

My ultimate reward would be a trip to Mars.... :D But my realistic ultimate goal is a new wardrobe.....everything will get tossed/given away then bought new....everything. And I plan on going somewhere nice to go clothes shopping.

Gain 'water' weight most likely. When you start working out, your muscles will hold onto water as part of the repair process (and there's the whole glycogen storage thing too).....keep working out regularly and your body will stabilize, with a 'weight' gain after increasing intensity. And yes, after a high carb weekend, or…

Eeeeew. I am now off my feed.

^ This And my bloodwork came back and instead of being just below normal for BP and cholesterol, I was now in the mid of normal range.

Sliced and frozen then dipped in melted dark chocolate. mmmmm.

THIS I would also add, do it for your marriage. An unhappy stressed out partner makes the other partner unhappy and stressed out. YOU need time for you. Your husband gets time away from the kids when he works, and when he gets out of the house to work out...why aren't you able to get even a portion of that time when he…

I'm 5'5". I wore a size 4 or 6 at 135 pounds, but it was at ~18% body fat. (and this was a 1990's size 4 to 6)

Mine is open. I was on MFP last summer, jumped off the wagon, had a kitchen remodel going for the last couple of months (yes to no more eating out all the time!) and have really decided to focus myself again. Feel free to add me, I keep adding my recipies so I know what's in what I'm making.

I try to plan and log the night before during the work week.....that way I know what I'm going to eat, and I don't 'need to think'. On weekends, I log as I go, with a nebulous idea of what I'll be eating that day.
-
need details. What do you mean by 'pretty low calorie diet'? What are you set at to lose per week? How much do you realistically expect to lose in a week?
-
For me if it's stuff like a quick vaccumming/dusting/taking out trash, I don't. But when it's a 'real'cleaning, like moving furniture, down on hands and knees scrubbing, scrubbing tile and like....then I do, since that's a once a month type of thing.

Corn Beef Hotdish... A comfort food from when I was a kid that is the one sure-fire thing my 5 yr old will eat. And after a week of struggling to get him to eat dinner, I figured WTH.... So really not good for your.....pasta, kraft american cheese, hormel corned beef, cream of chicken soup, onions, some milk......but…

"Therefore a pound of muscle takes up less space than a pound of fat." There. I fixed it for you.....'cause a pound is a pound is a pound.....but the volume that pound takes up is not the same.

1) Starting an exercise program, especially if after being a couch potato, you will see water retention before you'll see weight loss. 2) Looking at your diary, are you logging what you are actually eating? Not very nutritionally dense over the past couple of days. And very high in sodium....too much sodium = water…

I always died playing Oregon Trail....i would say that game single handedly kept me from playing video games until i was i my 30's

Ratatouille all the way! (emeril has an easy recipe on food.com, I just wing it making it now) Awesome as a side with grilled chicken. Any leftovers the next day we usually shred up the chicken and mix in with the ratatouille and serve over pasta. edited to add: I used to HATE eggplant until I learned you need to salt it…

I love oatmeal, but can't STAND the gluey instant oatmeal, especially the stuff that comes in those packs with the flavorings. Ugh, Gross, nasty! I usually eat the old fashioned rolled oats, undercooked/cooked with less water than the directions say so it doesn't get pasty. Some chopped walnuts, bananas, and a tsp of brown…

Um, sucrose (disaccharide) is not the same as the major sugar found in an apple (fructose, monosaccharide)

Too funny. I was out with a friend and someone asked me how old I was....I replied 33 automatically....my friend was like WTH? And I had to do a double take and revise my age.....I feel like I'm 25, but mentally stuck at 33.

I played stuff at the arcade.....we never had an atari or nintendo or gamecube growing up....(we had a Vetrex)....but otherwsie i wasn't into games at all...(although Street Fighter and PacMan I was awesome at) But then I met my now husband and he introduced me to Balder's Gate on the PS2 in 2005. I think he rues…

Can add me too :) 40 with a 5 yr old. Have at least 35 pounds I like to lose. And I keep my diary open, nothing like having people tell you...."Good day, but should have made a healthier choice than 12 oreos for dinner" ;)
