Good lord, @Robertus, you're insufferable. OP, my advice to you is to eat as healthy as you can, work out 3-4 times a week, drink lots of water, and get your hair done the day of the wedding. Don't worry about your weight. You'll feel awesome and look beautiful and have a great time at your friend's wedding. Then, after…

I live in an expensive part of the U.S. -- our family of 4 spends about $200/week. I don't know if this has been posted here or on a different thread, but I found it interesting so I thought I'd share: time.com/8515/hungry-planet-what-the-world-eats/

1. Health. At my age all those "risk factors" start to become real. 2. Pain. When I was 70lbs heavier everything hurt. I want to avoid that. 3. Strength. I like to be strong. It makes me feel bad a.s.s. 4. Vanity. My hot bikini days are behind me, but I want to look "dayummmm" for an old lady. :p ;)

That's why it's called a *disorder*

Quick google search yielded this: careforyourmind.org/what-to-do-when-you-cant-afford-therapy/#more-1447 and this: health.usnews.com/health-news/blogs/on-health-and-money/2009/04/15/6-ways-to-get-affordable-mental-health-services and this: findahealthcenter.hrsa.gov/Search_HCC.aspx It's a start, anyway...

Therapy won't force you to like more foods, it will help you deal with your basic physical need for food (like it or not, you'll die without it) without it causing you a mental break. Look into options for low-income people. I don't know since I'm not in that situation, but surely there must be resources, assuming you're…

Others have given you great advice. I just wanted to add that there are no "bad" foods -- you're giving food a moral value that it doesn't have. Go ahead and eat your safe foods, just weigh and track them so that you're in a calorie deficit. It sounds like your safe foods will provide you with all your nutritional needs,…

Bratty 22-year-old child is bratty.

I think the reason people are missing your point is because you came on here whining about things that you really do have complete control over, and because you came off sounding like a spoiled brat. You might want to take a step back and re-evaluate. Rather than just go on a "health kick" and get all pissy that your…

I like walking kilometers rather than miles because you get...you know...higher numbers. haha! :D

Like others have said, if you don't know how to lose weight now, you won't know how to lose weight later. So many people think they can have surgery and not do the work, and then they re-gain everything they lose and then some. Don't become a statistic. Meet with a nutritionist/dietician/therapist NOW and start working on…

I think you should take a nice, calming walk. You're getting way too riled up. Reeeelaaaaax. OP, you seem to have the right mind set...no point in depriving yourself of yummy easter treats...but you have to keep track because those calories do creep up!

Don't confuse the boy.

LOLOLOLOLOLOL... Anyone who would take my suggestion seriously to stop eating entirely should have their Internet privileges taken away permanently.

OP, read carefully. It's really quite simple. Eat more than you burn = gain weight. Burn more than you eat = lose weight. Sex has NOTHING to do with it.

Knowing what to do and doing it are two entirely different things. I could probably have a degree in nutrition with all the reading and studying I've done on the subject over the years, but my emotional problem with food led to 20 years of obesity. I have kids, and, at least in their public school in the United States,…

Thank you for the lesson in interwebz communication, because I was born yesterday. * deliberate lack of winky face here *

*shrug* I guess I'm tired of all the people who are in a huge rush to lose weight. It takes time, hard work, dedication, etc....and most of all time.

don't recognize sarcasm?

You could just stop eating until you drop the 35 lbs. Don't forget to drink water, though, because you could die without it. Be aware that when you start eating again you'll gain it all back.

What a stupid "diet." It looks like someone just went through their kitchen and said "a little of this, a little of that..." of the most boring and bland food they could find. I'd rather just have smaller portions of food that tastes good, but I'm crazy like that. Also, anything that says you can lose 10 lbs a week is bad…

Sounds like you need a basic source for nutrition. I have this book and I refer to it often http://www.amazon.com/Understanding-Basics-Nutrition-Elizabeth-Carpenter/dp/1419668552/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1423519447&sr=8-1&keywords=basic+nutrition Patience is key. It takes time to change habits and see changes. Good luck. :)

I did, but that's because I'm old and short and I can't have many calories, so every one counts. As much as I love wine, I'd rather have food.
-
I haven't read the thread yet, but at my fattest, I couldn't paint my toenails. Humiliating but true. ETA: there were many awful things about being hugely obese...I just thought of one of the many things I couldn't do comfortably. At work, just passing through...

I don't like fast food -- tastes like plastic. When I'm in a hurry and don't have time to make my lunch, I often pick up a protein bistro box from Starbucks (there's one right across the street from my office). Hard boiled egg, sliced apple, cheddar cheese, grapes, a whole grain looking flat bread thingie, and a packet of…

I do cardio so I can eat more...I lift weights to get strong

The one @DangerousDUCK started about girls and lifting weights, in which he pissed off nearly everyone.
