I am serious, supportive and sometimes a slacker (we are all human) - add me if you like!

Really good. My doc said my resting heart rate of 45 was that of an athlete.

I dread to think what my saggy bits would look like now if I hadn't started lifting at the beginning of my journey. I have been doing this since January 2012 and I am loving it. I hope that if I keep lifting my skin will eventually catch up.
-
Stop weighing every day.
-
I know exactly what you mean. Well done and good luck on your new journey!

My son is 21 - he has never seen me as "small" as I am now. I have about 5lb to go until ONEDERLAND! I love the new me! Good luck with your journey.

Nice challenge - let us know how it goes! My challenge? In January I was basically nearly a cripple (see my profile) - now I can do stepups onto a lifting bench, and believe me, that was NOT in my vocabulary 9 months ago!
-
no harm done, no offence taken. Doc knows how long I have struggled with my weight and is amazed by my progress, so maybe he was being nice too. I just wanted to brag lol.

I need a knee replacement and CAN do weighted squats and lunges. They were hard and painful at first (9 months ago) but after a few weeks got easier as I got stronger. I used to say I CAN'T DO THAT - but with supervision by my trainer I CAN DO THAT! and much more! I surprise myself and my trainer sometimes so if your…

If there is a next time - remember that you might be fat now but they are ugly. You will NOT always be fat, but they will ALWAYS be ugly. Keep your chin up you dont need their opinions.

My PT saved me from myself. I was MUCH bigger than you when I started. I see him once a week since January and I couldn't do it without him. He has taught me about my body - and at the age of 50 I thought I knew my body - how wrong I was! He is half my age but I trust him and he respects me and my commitment and effort. I…

I am nearly there. I want to lose another 42lb. I did it solely with weightlifting AND I need a knee replacement so am in major pain all the time - really, if I can do it then your friend can I am sure. It's all in the mind!
-
I train for six days every week. Lifting heavy for about an hour. My physical limitations are immense, apart from the huge weight I used to carry, I need a new knee (bone to bone) and I think if I can do it, most people who have determination to do it can do it too. Friend me if you like.
-
Well done you! What an achievement. I am interested in your training too, I have planned to cycle 75 miles from London to Brighton next year and would love to know your regime?!
-
Can I play?
-
^^^^ This is your problem. You need to get your head round it and formulate a plan. Stick to that plan. Now that might be in the form of small goals, take one goal at a time and go for it! Don't try to do everything at once. Good luck!
-
Guess !

I am strong and this is what my trainer recommends for my warmup. I know it's over the top but it isn't difficult and only takes 4min41sec or thereabouts. I then go into the weight area and lift heavy for an hour in circuits/supersets. Love it!
-
Thanks everyone, especially the comments about do it/don't do it! I need to get serious now and the high protein with occasional carbs diet suits my body type and my lifting regime, so I will probably NOT do it but stick to what I AM DOING and just be more regimental with myself. You are great!
-
Thanks sweetie, but it has to be oats. I have read some more, and realised I can use the Oat Bran which can be made up into a porridge, but as the amount needed is so small I can sprinkle it over foods. Thanks guys!

Thanks Dave, it's not a huge change for me as I have been eating clean(er) for 6 months now. I am ready for the next phase which is taking it much more seriously and getting to my target. Thanks for your input. Your profile pic is impressive - my Trainer has a body like that, do you do modelling?? :blushing:
-
Check your nutrition. If you haven't fuelled you won't be able to work out! A little bit of carbs an hour or so before should help. I love the shaky feeling, the sweat on the floor and all that goes with it - it tells me my body is working hard. Don't be scared of it, work through it, remember your body is in shock as you…

1000mg Vitamin C three times a day for a week, then once a day after that for another week. should do it. I find the dissolvable type gets into the system quicker. Oh, and lots of water.
-
I row for 1000m, level 8 34/36 strokes per min. Works the whole body.
-
No pics, change the IMG to img I think that's what's needed.
-
Yup, I'm a cheap date these days too! haha

1lb a week is over 3 stone in a year! hehe
