Hello girls! I have been on MFP a couple of years now. Lost all my weight in 18 months - after 30 years of trying! Did it in the weight room! Yeah, weights over cardio anytime. I have had a knee replacement last June and haven't looked back since. I am 52 and my birthday is November 5th, which is celebrated in the UK -…

Thanks Babs - I will be careful Mum! I will be a good girl (most of the time LOL). xx

Thank you! :blushing:

Good advice. My routine got stagnant and I could not lift some weights into position without a buddy. Now my gym buddy and I train together every night and it makes a lot of difference, we can push each other a little bit further and get those bigger dumbbells up with help. My whole weightloss is entirely due to…

I am 5'4, 51years old, and used to weigh 297lb.......... weightlifting was my key. Still is. I am a whole new person I LOVE LIFE NOW!!! Edit: The weightloss so far has taken 12months.

THANKS BABE!:flowerforyou: :blushing:

I am 51. I have managed to lose a lot of weight over the last year. I weight lift with hardly any cardio due to knee problems. I eat as clean as I can and drink loads of water. My weight comes off in chunks. I NEVER weigh regularly, the scales are my enemy! If I weighed every week (which I used to do) it messed with my…

Oh yes, deflated is the word for me too! Belly AND Boobs! Empty balloons! I am proud of them all but can't wait for them to catch up my weightloss..... however, as they have been streeeetttchhheed for over 30 years I guess it will leave some bagginess unfortunately. BUT, over the last couple of months people have been…

Awesome. I feel so young and vibrant again. I can totally understand your clothing anxt. However, just look back to where you used to be and where you are now. Don't hate your new body. Embrace it and learn to love it again. x

Lift. I can't do much cardio as I need a knee replacement and get severe pain if I try it for too long. My ticker shows how much weight I have lost in 12 months.
-
I used to be the fattest ......... 12 months ago.
-
You stalking me Si?? hehe.

Can I play? I am 51. Lost all this weight using weights and eating cleaner. Knee problems (going to have a replacement this year) so can't even really do much cardio........ The scale is the enemy.... teehee.

It's been 14 months since I began my quest. I have been weightlifting since the beginning, with not much cardio due to my knee being bone-to-bone and needing a replacement. My unexpected surprise happened only this weekend, my libido went through the roof!! - I was hoping it would happen as I had read other people say how…

Lifting got me to where I am now. I am not super heavy lifting but it's giving me the body I am beginning to love. I have knee issues so some days are better than others (need a knee replacement - it's bone on bone) so if I can do it I think anyone could have a go. I lift about 4 times a week with 2 CV days (due to the…

Congratulations! Great NSV. I have been overweight for the last 30 years (of my 51 years) and STILL don't quite believe that my new size IS MY NEW SIZE!

I want to be hot....

Thanks peeps, that is helping me feel a bit better! Patience woman, patience!!!

Yep, I had thought of that! Never comes off/goes on where we want it to does it?

I am always positive, and always on here! Choose me to add too if you like!

I have it. But only my head. My mum has it too. So it is hereditary. I have lost my weight during the last year, and now am noticing that I do sweat less, but during workout I drip down my neck and soak my shirt, I have to wear a headband to stop my eyes getting full of sweat too. I used to think it was because I was so…

^^^ Certainly! I am proud of my deflated, groovy (see what I did there!) road map. HEHE.

If you are having trouble cooking it, get a microwave rice cooker. For brown rice I just put the amount into the container, cover it plus 1cm with boiling water, put in the microwave for 10mins, take out, stir and put back in for another 10 mins. Brown is nuttier and more crunchy than white but this never fails and is easy.

By the way, forgot to say I have done it all with weightlifting - I have osteoarthritis in my knee and need a knee replacement, so hardly any cardio.

I have loose skin around my tummy and my arms. My stretchmarks have deflated and now run around my tummy like a 3D map. I have been overweight for 30 years so it will take a long time to go back, if it ever does. I don't mind. I see this as my battle scars and it was a battle I WON! I would so much rather have the loose…

Thanks! I won those photos in a competition - my gym (LA Fitness UK) ran a comp for people to tell their story about how the gym had helped them in their goals, the prize was to be the face of LA Fitness for their Facebook page (for December) plus an all expenses paid photo shoot in a London studio. I had a great time and…

I did it in the weightroom! My trainer gradually built my strength, I went to the gym six times a week (still do....) and worked out in the free weights for at least an hour. Sometimes it was hard because it was difficult to stand, so I would use the machines (leg press instead of squatting etc) or if I felt really sore I…

So true. Congratulations on finding yourself!
