It does! I feel like a new woman! Thank you.

Thanks ladies. I used to read the success stories when I began, and they inspired me so much. I haven't finished with my journey but I did hit my original goal and I am so pleased! It took longer than expected, but I got there.

I weightlift. This is what it did for me so far. (can't do much cardio due to knee problems)
-
OK it's 3 days later and I am gonna go for it! Straight, pain free leg here I come! YEAH.
-
Decisions, decisions...... thanks everyone. I am not expecting you to decide for me, I am just weighing up the options.
-
Thanks. It's difficult for me because I am relatively mobile (more since I lost this weight, and pain is intermittent). I worry though that if I wait until it is unbearable again that it could even be six months before I can have surgery (due to waiting lists) and then the knee will be less "fit" for the op.

Wow, if ever there was a good advertisement for new knees, you are it! Thanks very much, I am still deliberating - more points of view please!!!!

Hey guys, looks like nobody out there has had knee replacements!!! Can anyone help??
-
????????
-
Yes I have read lots of people's experience now. I agree, 5 years appears to be a rubbish statement. Perhaps he is testing me to see how serious I am about wanting it replaced. The dilema I have is that, now I have lost the weight, the pain is so much reduced, inasmuch that - when I don't feel the "nipping" sensation - it…

Thanks guys - very interesting, especially about the 5 year lifespan of the knees.

Recently I went out for a drink with my friend and before we had even sat down two men approached us and started flirting. It also happened TWICE more that evening, the second time with much younger men (I am 51....)! I have been happily married for nearly 30 years and it was a big shock but also a HUGE boost! In fact I…

No problems with the loose skin: I have LOADS of it! I see it as my battle scars from the battle I WON! - as are my deflated stretchmarks. I am enjoying them at the moment because I can SEE my progress. I will now be working on giving my skin time to catch up (after 30 years being stretched it won't go overnight), and…

You are right, when I am not fasting I eat as clean and as healthy as possible. But I guess it's the same as every "diet" it seems to give a quick fix and doesn't educate people to eat healthily. Luckily - through eating the right foods so I can weightlift every day - I have already learned the right way to eat when I am…

I gave it a go and liked it. Lost 7lb in a week (although I do have a lot to lose so others may not lose so much obviously). I found it quite easy, as I didn't "eat" breakfast it was easier to keep away from foods, although I did have the 500cals recommended throughout the day, I counted protein shakes and meal replacement…

I am 51 and felt exactly like you 12 months ago! If I can be of help and inspiration please feel free to add me. I changed my mindset, changed my life and now I have a new body and a better (physical) life.

I used to get stared at and whistled as a teen. If that happens now after 30 years of being severely obese, I WOULD LOVE IT! ha!!
-
Hi everyone, I just made OneDerland last week. I am happy for new MFP friends if you want to add me! Read my profile first then decide x
-
I lift. Can't really do much cardio cos my knee is knackered. Weightlifting works! Add me if you like.

I know where you are coming from. 12 short months ago I was thinking about using walking aids to get around due to extreme pain and overweightness (I know that's not a word, but it seems to fit LOL). Anyway, I got off my - crutches - and got into the gym. My ticker shows the rest. You are right, it won't come from us, it…

Cooooeeeee! I have been here for a year, great site and great peeps.

12 months ago I weighed 136kg. I am 90kg now. Weightlifting mostly, can't do cardio cos of knee problems (bone on bone). I have given myself another 7lb to my original target of 112lb, but I think I want to lose another 14lb over the next YEAR whilst building strength and giving my skin time to catch up after 30 years of…

I was one of "those" in Jan this year! I have clocked up nearly 300 visits since then and lost a huge amount of weight! Good luck to you all, stick with your plan and you will make it too!
-
I love the new body I made myself!
-
That's the one! Thanks very much.
-
I've sent you a message.

ALSO, your exercise diary doesn't show much at all and with your macros set to 1950 calories I am not sure you will be losing weight on that high a level? How is it going weight-wise?
-
The salad is good! I think if you set your diary to show "sugar" you will be very surprised at how much you are consuming with the types of foods you have logged there (I only looked at the latest entry by the way). Try to keep away from foods that haven't been grown or killed i.e. good foods = veg, fruits, meat, poultry,…
