  • Here's to learning new things! Week 3 is where the real work begins! The first two are all "oh, I've got this, I can do it" then by week 3 the excitement of "new" is gone and the scale hasn't really moved and the 'why bother' and mind games set in. It's ALL in your mind! You can do this! and you Do have a why bother - for…

  • Welcome to you Both! Remember to do pictures and measurements too! The scale is only One measuring tool! Glad you've both been making changes and feeling a bit better- thats a Big deal! :)
  • Welcome! I agree, the mind is a BIG part of this! You have GREAT Wants! It can help many even more to spend some time digging into each one. Why do you want to be healthy? What will it mean to You.... write down All those reasons! From not worrying about the size of a chair, to being able to play with kids, etc. Write down…
  • It's human nature to be afraid to do something new. Everyone is the first time. Magic happens at the End of the comfort zone. Tell yourself you WILL do this! You CAN do this, even though you're afraid. Here's to the first day of your journey! And yes, many stress eat. It's a habit. Try writing down every time it happens.…
  • My 10 year old daughter went to an assembly at school yesterday that talked about this and she's all excited we will get a car that can just take her place...... hmmmm
  • I barely move at work, I get it. Restroom isn't that far, the whole place, that I can go into, isn't very big. When the weather is OK I can walk outside. Mainly I'm a slug a work. I'm not comfortable enough to pull out bands, etc. at my open area desk. I workout at home in the AM before starting my day.
  • Petite - but not diabetic. Hope you find your 'tribe'!

Went with a former partner as a young adult Didn't go again until 15 years later with my now husband and his family Took the kids 3 years ago…
  • This week. Stay on plan. Get all the workouts in and keep much closer on my timed nutrition.
  • Keep on going!!!!! You got past the "it's been two weeks and it's not fun anymore, and I don't see change so why bother" stage!!! GREAT JOB! Keep going! It's a lifestyle!
  • Does your gym have anyone to help explain any other equipment? Do they have any classes? I always like the classes, because I could follow along, vs 'figuring out my own thing'. I'm at very low weights, but it's better than none. Don't be afraid of them! Start slow and keep moving forward.
  • The past is the past. You can't change it. You have today, and you have a choices of what you will do with today, with your movements, with your food, with whatever you want. Do what You want for You today. Repeat tomorrow. :) You Are healthier... every day you choose to be. there's your positive energy. You're not trying…
  • It's hard changing these habits. Keep adding in some good foods, and it doesn't leave as much space for the other. Keep going!!!!!!! :) Tomorrow is a new day!
  • Yes, I've used it and enjoyed the program. For some, it helps visualize the portion controls and it's easier than a more strict weighing of everything. Everyone has to find the niche that works for them.
  • Here's to a fresh start!
  • People! So sorry! But you're making them part of that motivation! Here's to you and your son!
  • Take away the Guilt and Defeat This is a lifestyle change. Eat healthy when you can. If you're traveling and can't, then you eat. Feeling defeated will bring on more bad feelings which your brain then says "why do this" and stops. Even fast food has choices that are 'better or worse' for that location. Choose what you can…
  • Good info above. We don't know enough on your size/weight/etc. Also you say you're seeing changes - that can mean more than the scale. MEASURE TAKE PICTURES These things matter too Weight is only part of the full health pic Congrats on the consistency so far
  • Welcome! I'm 52! Feel free to add me. How to hold yourself accountable -- My suggestions First WHY are you doing this? Ask yourself.. and ask again and ask again like a 3 year old Why? To lose weight Why? to feel better Why? Because I feel tired all the time Why? etc. How will it FEEL to lose the first 10 pounds? 20? Etc?…
  • Welcome! Here's your step to feeling better! Make a full plan "Add before deleting" . Many jump in full bore and it's such a change it's hard and then they give up. Add In Some healthier foods. Add a fruit and vegetable each day for a week... now you're used to that... now look at one of your most "processed meals" look at…
  • Welcome! Here's to your goals. I'm in MI - we've been cold for months - but you're not used to this! At least it's temporary there. :)
  • Welcome! Step 1 You're here Step 2 Set goals. Start with your small ones Step 3 Create that plan to get there -- it will change over time. That's ok Start with this week. Step 4. No Failing! We all fail, that's how we learn... so time to learn things and keep going! Weeks 2 and 3 are when it gets hard and many quit. Why?…
