Hi, all! The 3:00 AM dark side of having made and eaten chocolate-covered anything after 8:00 in the morning. When will I learn that I just can't have caffeine, EVER????

I have homemade chocolate-covered bacon as my profile pic right now.... :)

And then they shout, "I am rubber, you are glue! What every you say bounces off of me and sticks to you!" This, by the way, has absolutely horrible pacing for syllables and timing. :)

"At least it's going in the right direction!" when you lose .2 pounds. :)

Ladies and gentlemen (and especially gentlemen), may I please bring your attention to a strip in the fabulous comic, "Girls With Slingshots", for another REALLY good reason to use good grammar and spelling? Lol!! http://www.girlswithslingshots.com/comic/gws-849/

Ooo! It's also great on baked potatoes! Throw on some black beans, and you've got a nice protein boost from all three of them!
-
Either that, or the lack of it!
-
Great! That means you can eat one chocolate chip to make up for it! :) Lol!

Eat pizza! Pizza is evil and sneaky, and even if you just have it in your house for your kids, the leftovers will sneak out of your fridge at night, find you asleep in bed, and oooooooze into your body through your pores. This will make you gain an immediate 10 pounds.

Try having a cottage cheese sandwich on toast! It's amazingly good, especially with just a smidge of butter on the toast. Think of it like lasagna, with layers of starch and cheese. :)

I totally encourage the snooping! I should say, however, that this has been a very, very weird week, food-wise, due to being a little bit sick, and a couple of meals out, including our anniversary dinner. The week before was probably a little more typical, if you don't mind clicking a smidge farther back in the snooping! :)

I'm 5'3... I have a medium build. I weigh 155, with a 14 pants size (big hips and bottom!). I'd like to get back to around 125 pounds. I'm 39 years old, and had twins 16 years ago. I guess I can't claim that it's baby weight anymore! LOL!

It does seem that I see a lot of others exercising at night, so either it doesn't bother everyone, or they aren't sleeping, or there is a trick to all of this! :)

All of us "curlies" HAVE to read "Curly Girl" by Lorraine Massey! It's a fabulous book about loving and taking care of our curly hair, "recipes" for scalp scrubs, suggestions for issues, etc. Her main idea is to "wash" our hair with conditioner instead of shampoo. It has the same cleansing ingredients, and keeps it from…

Nope! It's a great "come hither" look! :)

Nope! Very intense eyes! :)

It confused me at first, too. Okay, here is the very simple breakdown: If you do absolutely nothing but lie in bed all day without moving at all, like you were in a coma, your body would still burn around 1200 calories all by itself, by breathing, making your heart beat, etc. This is called your BMR or Basal Metabolic…

Yay for Kindles! Audiobooks are great for exercising, driving, cleaning, etc. There are lots of them out there (with non-computer voices, too!) at your local library!

Hooray for whooshes! :)

Thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you! I had just posted a thread about this exact question! I think you just helped many, many, many people from giving up, including me!

Yummy! Thanks for the idea!

Cari4jc1- I"m glad he can be off of them for awhile! Does he have trouble keeping his potassium at safe levels, too? Thinteacher-, I'm hypo-thyroid, too! Great bodies think alike??? Lol! :)

I have to take diuretics, so I'm not actually sure how that affects overall water-retention, such as muscle-healing. Anybody else know?

Oh, and I forgot to say that once I got my Fitbit, I found out that my TDEE was significantly lower than I expected! Usually only between 1800-1900!
-
MaraDiaz and Yanicka1-I have been formally working out for the first time in years, and I'm trying to do something everyday, even if it's just a walk. As a matter of fact, this is the most active I've ever been in my whole life! :) The Fitbit is supposed to be pretty accurate (95-97% for step counting) with the margin of…

I'm also in the new, just starting to run a little bit, camp. I agree with the listening to music idea, and I've also been having a ton of fun with an app called "Zombies, run!" It's hilarious, and it intersperses the story with your own music. I've laughed so hard on the treadmill at the rec center that people start to…

If you don't mind my asking another follow up question, I know that people say that strength training is almost or just as important as cardio. Are there any good sources that you would recommend for a beginner to get started? I have two 5 pound hand-held dumbbells, and a good attitude! :)
