For weight loss it doesn't matter a jot as long as you're at a calorie deficit. :) Nutritionally, if eating either would still keep you at a calorie deficit, then I'd pick the one with less sugar.

Definitely! Office job + boredom eating. If I didn't spend my lunch hour walking I think I'd be very overweight.

Nooooo! As long as your calories in is less than your calories out YOU WON'T GAIN WEIGHT. Your TDEE is bound to be around 2000 or more and you're only eating 1200 or less, that means you'd have to nom down 800+ calories before you would come close to gaining weight. Look at some jillian michaels DVDs. They're brutal for the first 3 or 4 days but your body copes fast and after about a month you'll be amazed at the changes.

Fad diet is a fad. calories in vs calories out. Just stick with eating at a deficit. It doesn't mater what you eat (much). Some cardio to build stamina and some strength training to make sure the weight lost doesn't come from muscles...

If you *don't* eat back the calories you might find yourself lacking the energy to exercise pretty soon. Eat and enjoy!
