  • it seems to be around 15,000, but other costs can bring it up do double because insurance realllllly doesn't like to cover it. I haven't had it yet but am looking to do so this summer. I lost 140lbs total, was 340lbs, now 200. its extensive, and recovery is hellish. i tihnk payment plans depend on your surgeon.
  • how much extra skin I would have... its been over two years since i lost it and i still look like my skin is melting off my body. i'm finding out i'm going to need some serious (and expensive) plastic surgery to get rid of it :(
  • Just took some pics for a reference.... back and stomach skin. NOTE: I am 23 years old. So. Just being young does not mean your skin will not sag. It depends a lot on how much your skin has stretched--like, how much of it is stretch marks--stretch marked skin will not shrink away.
  • I think it depends on just how much weight there was to start. I used to weigh 335lbs. I now weigh 185. So, 150lbs lost. I have a lot of extra skin, especially my lower stomach and on my back, though it is still filled with quite a bit of fat which makes it hang in a very ugly way. I plan on losing 30 more, and then…
  • If it isn't too cold wherever you are, get out and walk somewhere. For me, I have to make sure I have a destination; if you're only walking to get rid of the urge, it isn't going to help--you'll just be thinking about what you want to eat. I usually walk to Starbucks lol. Its about 2 miles from my house. I get a tall…
  • Honestly? If you find something that works, PLEASE let me know. I have always been a HUGE stress eater (pun intended). I've spent about two and a half years dieting, lost 150lbs. And I've just been diagnosed with Panic Disorder and General Anxiety Disorder. My doctor tried to tell me that some people just don't develop it…
  • I usually drink 4 liters a day ( I have a 1L bottle that I just keep refilling ) but I drink a big smart water as well on days that I work out (like 3x a week), which i did today, so i probably had about 18 cups (8oz ) or so? I pee a lot.
  • Yeah, for me it is embarrassing because it means I have to admit how big I really was before.. because I was really, really big. People look at me now and say "Oh my Gosh you're so skinny!" and I have to deny it because according to any chart you look at I am still OBESE, at 185lbs! But its just a big difference from the…
  • The only picture I have of myself at my highest is my school ID photo... because honestly, when I was that big, I ran every time I saw a camera. Now I wish there were more! Down 140lbs, a little over two years... aiming to lose at least 30 more (because technically, I am still obese...)
  • I went to six flags with my friends, and we got right in line for super man. I got on superman with them, and the buckle could not fit around me... instead of letting me get off, they all insisted that I could do it if it just "sucked it in" and they were all leaning back and over me trying to "help".... the people working…
  • That is awesome, and congratulations! You were at the exact same weight as me at my start! I hope you can reach your goals and stay healthy and happy. Good luck! This website is awesome, you just have to stick with it :D

  • Yeah, maintenance makes sense, but mine is actually pretty high because I am still so heavy, and I really don't want to be eating an unhealthy amount of calories. So I was thinking 1800, because its a healthy amount for someone my age and height (22, 5'5)... and my fairly low activity level.
  • I don't really have a set goal, the main thing was to get from "morbidly obese" to "normal", so I am about 30lbs away from that.. am thinking of losing up to 60 more though. But for me that doesn't seem like all that much, which is why its frustrating; rather than take a break altogether I would rather keep losing, even if…
  • Yeah, I have been trying to do walk/jogs outside a couple times a week. Its not much, but I exercise more now than I ever have before, figured that was a part of what was making my feel so tired and just generally crappy. But I have been feeling super stressed out and anxious for no obvious reason other than the diet, so I…
  • Thanks for the advice. I haven't been eating exercise calories, but I don't really do any 'real' exercise, just walk a few miles a day on the treadmill. I don't think I really burn much doing it so I've never really bothered to think about it. I will try to bring myself back up to a normal range. I don't even know what…
  • I am glad I'm not the only one who was freaked out by this!! I didn't even realize that my shoes were too big for me (thought they'd just stretched with wear) but when I went shopping the other day I was fitting into all these 8.5s and I was like WHAT I AM A 9-10! Happy me though, I always have a hard time finding cute…
  • a lot of people don't realize that eating can become an addiction. although my doctor has never really told me that, i know that i have been addicted to food for as long as i can remember. so many people say that weight loss is easy, that all you need to do is stop eating, but when it comes down to it its really difficult…
  • ive been thinking of getting one once ive lost weight, of a bird; because having so much extra weight can really keep you down and once its lost it feels so much freer. i have lost 100 lbs of my 200lb goal and already i feel like i could fly :D
  • Just once a week. The weight really fluctuates so much every day, even just not going to the bathroom can show up as gaining a pound. I go on every day just to make sure I'm doing everything right and there are no mistakes, but I only log my weight once a week, maybe because that feels more like a long term weight loss…
