I can't destinguish thirst so, I keep a bottle on my desk and sip every 15 minutes or so. If I haven't drank enough water, I fill my bottle up for the drive home and sip everytime I am stopped. I manage to drink about 6 glasses now.

if you want to add to your walking routine, start doing fartleks (Swedish for speed play). Pick a telephone pole or other land mark and say from this one to the next, I am going to speed walk - go as fast as you can. Then slow down and walk at a normal pace. Then do it all over again. I only weigh myself once a week. Same time. Your weight can fluctuate so much for a variety of reasons. I don't want to deal with that. Kristine
