OP: Thank you; I want to be that woman, and your writing and recommendations will help!!!

I'm not going to claim it's better than other schools of yoga, just my personal preference now. It was created by Ana Forrest (whose book Fierce Medicine is absolutely amazing). It is practiced in a heated room (80-90 degrees); each practice starts with pranyama, then moves into seated positions before ab work. The class…

We all have them. Put it away, throw it out, dump stuff on top of it, walk (run) away from it. You can decide whether the next bite you put into your mouth will make you feel better or worse. I know it's not easy. Sending you positive, healthy vibes!!

Need to get back to goals! Thanks for posting this! Last time I did this, I think I stuck around 20 miles/month. So, let's up it... But I'm moving my entire program this month, plus Special Olympics, so..... May Mile Goal: 25 miles

I have to say, I've never done Bikram. But I usually do Baptiste, Forrest, or other "power" yoga in a 90 degree + room. I adore it. The ONLY reason I started this was because I had found an instructor who I love, and she told me about a "heated" class she taught at another studio. I laughed at her. Me and heat/humidity are…

Thank you to everyone who replied to me; I cannot begin to tell you how much it means to me. I did take your advice- got bundled up and took the pup for a walk, then headed to the dog park. Even made myself go to a yoga class this afternoon. A few things people have brought up- yes, I am seeing a therapist, and the meds…

I buy "old fashioned" oatmeal- 1/2 a cup of that and 1 cup of water in the microwave for 2 minutes and it's perfect. And less salt/sugar than the prepackaged stuff. I add a container of greek yogurt to it to add some flavor, fruit, and don't have to add any milk to it, too. Ends up being just about 300 calories, and…

I sooo hear you! The last week or so has been really frustrating for me; I really want to eat the cake, pie, chocolate, cookies that are going around and NOT worry about it, but I know I can't. For now, I'm still logging everything- looking at how far I've come has helped a bit. Best of luck to you!!!! -Kel

I struggle with the same thing; I'm not a huge veggie fan, but I'm slowly learning to find what I like, make them so I like them, and eat more of them. I think the biggest thing, though, is actually buying them and putting them in the fridge on the shelf right at eye level so it's the first thing I see when I open it up.…

Well, last month I was about 4 miles short of my goal of 45 miles, but the two months before that I had easily made my 30 mile goal. This month- I'll compromise. My goal for December is 40 miles. Good luck everyone!
